I'm sure there will be more to add but I did something stupid and reaped the rewards with a dead stick kill. 

At the last second I jumped into a P38G, forgot to check fuel, and winged with Daddog.  Right before contact with the enemy I ran out of gas and Dad instructed me to try to find a place to ditch and gun for Ray.  Heading back to base I noticed inbound cons and thought 'what the heck? I've got plenty of alt for one pass' so I sneaked up behind this guy and unloaded on him with catastrophic results for him .  Managed to ditch it on a friendly island and spent the rest of the night surrounded by grateful natives and I think I saw Tom Hanks trying to turn a portopotty into a sail.

I think in my 10 or so years of playing I have had a couple dead stick kills. Pretty darn rare! WTG bud!

Uneventful for me. I pinged some fighters, but that was about it.

I was watching a show, Dogfights i think and the guy was recounting a battle he was in. Flying P38s they saw 109s below them and dived in on them. In the excitement he forgot to switch tanks and as he dove down the engines stopped, he got the kill deadstick then restarted his engines LOL.
