Do I get extra hazardous duty pay by having both a teenage daughter and this group of thugs?   Grin

WOW!!! I can't believe it....seems like yesterday Teeerex and I happened upon some guy call sign "daddog" gettin his tail feathers waxed and we just happened to blunder in and help out. Then he kept texting us...we thought he was just a little strange...kinda creeped us a bit. Turned out to be one of the greatest freinds ever and some of the best times ever. Ghostmon you need to relate the fabled B-17 flilght.....Love you guys, you make the time that I do get to spend with you the best....HAPPY "B" DAY MONGRELS!!!!

A few bits of assorted history to share with you all.

First our "sister" squadron the 332 Vikings.

332 Viking Squadron
The "332 Viking Squadron" was Created her in Aces High in September 2001 by "GA". We were 3 Norwegian friends who played together for fun, Cybo, Tore, and Me(GA).
The Name 332 Viking Squadron was put together with ideas around the Real "332 Squadron" who was a Norwegian fighter Squadron flying Spitfires and Hurricanes under WWII from Great Britain, since Norway were invaded from the Germans.
The real "332 Squadron" of today is flying F-16 and have there Base on "Rygge" here in Norway, 10-min drive from were I live. The name "Vikings" in the Squads name was put in because at the time we were only Norwegians in the Squad, and I thought the Viking would be a good name to add, and we Norwegians are the real Vikings you know;). This was the 332 Viking Squadron start into the Online flysim world;).
The idea around making a online flysim Squadron was simply to shear and meet people with the same interest for WWII aviation, and also meet new friends.
Cybo Dropped out after a short time from flying, so "Tore" and I took a short time in on WBII for a 3-4 month change to try out another flysim since Aces High was our First experience with Online Fly sims. After the 3-4 month with WBII "Tore" also dropped out, and I went back to Aces High and start trying to recruiting pilots to the Squad. That was easier said than done;).
The 332nd Mongrels by "Ghost" and "DDog" thought i was a pity sight and felt sorry for me;) and took me under there wings and started training me up;). After 10 missions with the Mongrels I start to get new Ideas, with good help from "Ghosth" and "DadDog". My Idea was to create or use my Squad name 332 Viking Squadron to make a European Squad of the Mongrels here in Europe, because of the big time difference we had with the EST players, since almost all the Mongrels pilots was at EST so for me it was a 8 hour difference in time;).
After Being promoted to 1th. Lieutenant in The Mongrels I packed my bags and waved good bye to my Mongrels comrades with a big load with help and ideas to started building up the Squad. Special thx to "Ghosth" and "DadDog" SALUTE!.

A few kinds words in a recruiting post made by DD back in 2000.
"Ripsnort"

Folks, you won't regret joining this squadron, some of AH's finest, and the personalities of this squad are great!

Always a pleasure flying with the Mongrels, Daddog, I'm damn glad you fly for Knights! <S>

Rip, Red, you guys are a class act.  When someone can't join our squad I want you guys to know I point them in your direction! Your squads are two of the best in Aces High!   Thanks for the kind words and generous comments.

This thread brings back some good memorys.

Then there is this bit of classic 332nd gold.

"1:30 AM daddog and Mrs. daddog were in a deep sleep. New born baby was giving us one of those "rare" nights where she was sleeping 7 hours.

Phone rings....rings again....Gloria picks up the phone before I could. She listens.....
Hands it to me and says surprised "It's Harri".

Before I go further you should know Harri and I are good friends. He came out from Finland and stayed with us for two weeks. Though he does not make a habit of calling at this time of the morning.

I take the phone. "Harri"?
I hear talking and it sounds Finnish. "Harri is that you"?
More talking but it does not sound clear. It is as if who called put the phone down and is having a conversation with another person.
"Harriiiiiiiiiii that you"?
"Harri what are you doing"?
"HARRI"?
"Hellllllllllllloooooooooooooo oooooooooooo".
Now I hear what sounds like an old door creak open and more talking. Yup it is Finnish alright and that is Harri's voice for sure.
"HARRI"!
"You old dog"! "What are you doing"!?
"Harppaaaaaaaaaaaaa, talk to me"!
"Check your 6!"
"HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo oooooooooooooooo".
"Break Right"!
"RTB harppa".
<pause>
Still more talking.....I hang up the phone.

Speaking to my wife I said "I think he bumped his auto dialer again".  I went back to sleep, but a big smile on my face". He has a heart of gold.

The next morning (this morning) I saw him on ICQ and asked if he called me. He said no and I explained what happened. I came back on ICQ and said he felt silly because he just checked his phone log and sure enough he did call me then.

I will say this is "not" the first time he has done this to me.  Wink

Love ya Harri! More than you know!!!  Big Grin"

Just another day in the doghouse for Teeerex in this thread. Ammo used to be a mongrel, went on to form one of the best P-47 squads in AH. Have not seen him for years now.

"Ozark
Hi Folks,

Real Life has got me by the balls right now.
I have been away for almost a month. I’ll be back it 13 days! (And counting)  Smiley Damn, I never thought that I would have withdraws playing my favorite game.

You what I miss most? Flying with the dogs of the 332nd!

Ozark
332nd Flying Mongrels

PS… I’ll post photos of my million-dollar airplane. Hint...It don’t fly worth a damn..however, the fires are too cool!  Big Grin"

Unfortunately we seemed to have lost Ozark, along with a long long list of friends. So I will wind this up with a toast.

(Raises Glass)

Here's to absent friends, I hope you all are well.

All we can do is love those around us, miss those who leave us, and hope they come back again.

AMEN  icon_salut

In all seriousness.

There have been times both in game and on the AH boards I really wanted to let someone have the worst side of me.  The fact that I'm in this squad and what it stands for has always reminded me to think first then post or let a slight go by.

To me that's respecting both my current squad mates and the ones who went before me.

Thanks Ghost.  Great read.

<S> Mongrels.  Thinking back on the names / people is fun.  Can't believe it's been that long.  I do miss the ones not here and time priorities make me not able to get to know the current batch.

Best of luck.
