Can't wait to see what it will look like! I wonder how HTC will deal with all the complaints about it (How it will be a base-killer, do we get a NOOK?, what will the perk cost be?, etc, etc) and what else they have planned for it. P.S.- I might be able to fly this Friday. I have a dinner with some friends planned out of town at 6:30 and I might be doing some laser tag later that night. I'll hopefully get home in time before 9:00. I should be able to fly later this weekend, and definitely over Thanksgiving break. We get a whole week off!!!!

Ya, that thing will be a beast and a TON of perk points. I expect it will be 6 months before we see it. Was not even close to my first choice, but of course I have 'events' in mind when I think of planes I want added to Aces High. Their new front page looks good. I enjoyed watching the films they had posted.

I have mixed emotions about the monster.. There are so many other planes needed for historical purposes ( My events side showing here, too )
However, I am a buffer in heart, so any thing that lays eggs is a good thing.
I suspect, however, that the B29 is not going to be anywhere near the uber beast so many would have you believe.
It will also be interesting to see if they model the pressurized airframe.. or, rather, the effects on the crew when they lose pressurization at 30 thousand feet and suddenly discover how Freakin' cold it is up there.
When a plane like that is relegated to mid altitude nighttime raids to deliver the goods, there's gotta be some pretty significant flaws with it somewhere.
I highly doubt any of the LW Iron will have problems sending them down in flames.
Call it a hunch.
HOWEVER.. any new plane is a good thing.

I thought the Achilles Heel of the B 29 was engine overheating and not the pressurized cabin. The B 29 was designed to fly at 40k and 350 mph true airspeed so no Japanese planes could catch it. Even the pilots of the Comemarative Air Force say it is a struggle to get airspeed after takeoff to keep the engines from overheating and catching on fire in their B29. I read somewhere that most of the missions of the B 29's over Japan were low level incendiary missions. I hope they leave out the nook but it'll be fun to try to takeoff a fully loaded fully fueled b29. I still have trouble with the Lancaster if I put too much fuel in.

In my opinion B29 will be good for business, but not so good for the gameplay. It will bring lots of new customers, at least for a test ride. Then again, if it was perked as it should be, only few can fly it in the first place.
Like Flushed pointed out, the plane was not the easiest one for the pilot. How can this be modelled, or do we have a bomber with easymode enabled available soon?
Thinking of scenarios, B29 can be used very rarely with no proper opponent, unless somebody just wants to stir the pot and give new reasons from whining on BB's
-mostly MA -stuff, and if perked properly, quite seldom seen even there. I'll give it a try, but that's about it, not my cup of tea.
I'd chosen Beaufighter, or 410. Even He111 would have been a wiser choise, though it was destined as a hangar queen, ie. slow and weak armored pre-war construction.
Cheers! Harppa

PERKELE!!! Our dog made a big poo on the floor during the day. Next, our iRobot did its 90-min daily sweep! Yes, it is everywhere!

Maybe HTC is saving it for a Christmas present? Maybe something to kick off 2011? Looks like we will have to wait. I assume that they have only barely started working on it.

Well I do know that if its any good at all I have a lot of bomber perks saved up from over the years. Might just have to burn a few k's worth.
Also while some planes will have trouble catching it at 30k. Shortly after takeoff they'll be climbing at no more than 150mph, and won't have enough alt to dive away from you. So if you run into a pesky b29 pilot, figure out which base he's rolling from and lay for him.

I wanted the A26 and still do but I'd be just as happy if they firm up the Axis rides for FSO's and AVA scenarios. I do think it's funny how passionate people get about being 'for' or 'against' it. Wish I had that little to worry about
