There are only three Japanese Zero's in the whole world that are still flyable and I just found out a week or two ago that one of them is only 85 miles North of me in Minot, ND.  The A6M2 model 21 was built in 1941 and was recovered in 1965 from the jungles of Ballale, a small island in the Solomons just south of Bougainville.  Oh yeah, good news guys, it's also for sale!   thumbsup

Is that the Dakota Blayde Zero? I thought it was in the Fargo Air Museum. I saw a web site somewhere that said they were going to take it to the Oshkosh Air show this year. I'll see if I can find it.

That certainly is a beautiful bird.

Shame it fares so poorly in AH.

You're right Flushed, it's the same one and it was at Oshkosh this year.  It made an appearance at the Fargo museum but it is based out of Minot, ND at the Minot Air Museum.  Pietsch Aircraft which are part owners also do airshows.  Kent and Warren Pietsch (pronounced peach)  fly several different aircraft and have several routines one of which is taking off and landing the Jelly Belly 1942 Interstate Cadet from this pickup truck.

They also have the Dakota Kid II P51D for sale if you are interested!

Here is a link to their website as they have videos of some of their airshow routines and photos of other rare aircraft.

Very nice rkan!
Would love to buy that one! Smiley

Took my 8th graders to the Jelly Belly factory in the Bay Area 2 years ago. Was a great trip and neat to see how they make them.
