Looks pretty darn cool. Smiley
Here is a review of it that does a good job explaining how it works.

Very cool. I like the way they run over fences and hay stacks. Nothing is worse then getting flipped over by a bush in AH.

I've been playing this from time to time the past month or so.  It's a decent game but not really a sim In my opinion.  More of a first person shooter in tanks, if that makes sense.  They are not quite ready to add the clan/squad feature but its coming which will hopefully make gaming with a friend possible.  Argyll and I have co-ordinated via private chat to hit 'Enter Battle' at or close to the same time landing in the same game.  If you have a premium account you can create a platoon which allows you to play together, I have not tested that feature yet.

I can see it being a fun time waster, but not a game I would invest any money or much time in.  The fact that it is free is the reason I remain active.

Signed up last night for WOT, downloaded it while I slept (3 + hour download on my DSL)
This morning the beta invite was in my inbox. I'm setup for the beta and forums, installing now.

I checked it out, not my kind of thing.  They tried to make Tanks into an action game in my oppinion.  Since my first WW2 love was german big cats, if they ever come out with a ww2 tank game in the caliber of aces high 2's air game, I may not come back.

Well more or less yes, In my opinion they'd do a lot better if they increased the map size (doubled) It would give people more time to get into a good position, would let the scouts actually get ahead of the hvy's. And it would give people a bit more time to communicate.

It all happens real fast when your in your first light tank grinding away trying to earn XP to research better parts and $$ so you can afford to buy better parts or a better tank.

I was able in about 5 hours of play to go from baby seal kill (lucky if I got a shot off) to actually getting kills and surviving.
(best so far was 5 kills in the light us tank. Once I got upgraded from 37mm to 44mm it made a big difference.

Ghosth we should hook up! I've been playing for the last month or so, and I love it! I just got my T-34 and am starting work on my T-34-85.

OSU I have a trio of Tier 5's I'm playing with, M4 sherman with a 105mm gun that loves to go tangle with tigers, VK's, and KV's.

And a KV that is a slow, heavy, ponderous piece of russian iron. Then the Tank Destroyer SU-85.

Plus I have kept the tier 3 M2 medium because it is just pure fun to drive.
Been trying to level up the Tier 3 Pzk III Ausf A, but that one is hard for me.

Plus the Tier 2 SPG T-57 (recently had 7 kill sortie in that, followed a day later by another 7 kill sortie)

Last I'm back in the M3 Lee grinding to get to the T1 hvy line.

I have a channel in WoT called " Aces High" another called M3 Lee Grind

I often platoon up with others in either skype of Vent.
You may find me hanging with the JV Squadron in the morning. With guys like JVShort, JVBlueboy, JVNotch, IBSohi.

You may find me hanging with Aces High players in the evenings.
Xcelsior, Spinnich, Sundiver

Or I could be jumped in with some total stranger like PanzerVIII or Canuckman420 just because I enjoy helping people.

Give me a yell, would love to hook up. Am going to start using Vent much more for platoon battles.

Tank1 is McGyver in WoT you may see him on as well.

If there is interest I'd love to see a WoT forum as well. Ideally in a unprotected area that guests could access.
