I'm all CH but, after sitting unused for two years, my CH gear has dust on it that an air can, damp cloth, etc won't, get rid of.  If it's that bad on the surface I can only imagine what it is doing to the pots etc.  Anybody got any advice on how to clean this stuff off without taking it apart and, potentially, trashing my sticks? Friday night and last night I had to lean on my throttle and recalibrate several times just to keep up.  After last night I took care of the throttle problem in my CH manager and it seems to be working well tonight but I like clean gear.

Dust gets on the outside but generally speaking pots are pretty well sealed and hidden inside.
So not as likely to get crud inside them, although over time it is possible.

If you have a really bad pot, before replacing it you could try spraying it with contact cleaner. (stuff they used to clean the old tv tuners)

But even if it does come back from that they tend to not be as steady afterwords.

If it won't hold calibration where you want it, better to replace the pot and start fresh.

Thanks Ghost I think I'll attack the dust on the outside with a q tip and alcohol.  I can't stand grime even if it's not hurting anything.
