No experience here. I haven't even seen one yet at the gun stores or shows yet.

I can't emagine that SIG makes anything other than a decent firearm though, so it should be good.

it's a great rifle. very accurate as long as you use the 5.56 NATO ammunition. Using .223 Remington will not be as accurate but probably not harmful.

Chambers for military Rifles have a different throat configuration than a sporting rifle. Also rifles chambered for the 5.56 NATO round have a longer leade than a SAAMI Chambered .223 Remington and the NATO round will have  thicker walled brass.

And if you have a rifle chambered for for a .223 Remington. Never, I mean NEVER EVER try to shoot a 5.56 nato round through it. The difference in chamber pressures is about 10,000 psi and could result in a failure that you don't want to have next to your face or have any of your friends near you either.

100 5.56x45 62 grain full metal jacket bullets will cost you around $50.00

Flushed,

Have you shot one of these?  Or more importantly, would you buy one?

I shot friend of mines. He wanted a comparison of the m16/ar15 he never was in the military so never fired the M16. The sig has the same bolt design as an Ak47 except the recoil spring is wrapped around the operating rod. It is easy to field strip but carbon build up gives the same problems as the M16/ar15 so you gotta keep it clean.
It's a little heavier towards the muzzle than what I'd like everyone says you can fire a standard SAMMI .223 rd through it but I think it would be a bad idea. The throat of the chamber on military rifles are longer than a rifle that you'd use for hunting and I believe the thousandths of an inch difference between the 2 would strip the chrome off the inside of the barrel of the sig and that can't be fixed.

I wouldn't own one because I have no use for it. The only reason I shoot off any ammo now is for some deer chili and deer sausage.

It might go through the shell of that pesky armadillo though that has invaded my yard.

thanks Flushed,

"It might go through the shell of that pesky armadillo though that has invaded my yard."  There you found a use for it Grin  If you shoot the armadillo with that and it just walks off again, I'd think I'd give him the deed for the house and move somewhere else.  That would be one bad armadillo and I wouldn't want to be anywhere near him  laugh
