It is now 0330 CDT I have been Gving on and off for 12 hrs now and have reached the firm conclusion it stinks. I have been bombed, strafed, and shot and in 74 sorties I have 9 kills the last 10 sorties have been suicide runs at some guy named eaglehrt. I've tried out flanking him, I've tried sneaking up on him, I've tried shooting him on the run, even tried attacking him with 3 other tankers and we all got killed. I finally bombed him with an f4u.I wish I knew how those guys can shoot through treetops and I can't and over the hills and through buildings, other than bigrats answer is that is gamey, whatever that means. I turned down the sounds on the tank and the treads didn't help much. spent all 7 of my perk points on shermans that got killed as soon as they spawned in one shot. Tried the panzer but it lasted about as long as the sherman. The t34/76 seemed to last the longest even got a couple hits on tanks that bounced right off. ok, I'm ending my rant on my GV stinkiness (is that a word and did I spell it right?) I'll be back on probably around 6 pm. Baumer says he knows the easy way to gv.

GV'ing is harder than flying in many respects. It pretty much comes down to who see's the other guy first. After that its all about being able to zero in and kill him before he can do it to you.
A bit easier in my opinion is the Wirble/Ostwind. With a bit of practice 3 - 6 kill sorties are possible. Especially if you have supply's nearby.
Easiest way to master either is to use the Lead Computing Gunsight and get someone to fly target for you in the TA.

I enjoy GV'ing. It takes time and practice just like flying. If you go charging in you are probably going to die. I have my stick axis scaling for GV's in a straight line only about an inch from the bottom, It's makes for a lot smother motion and I can put a round more precisely on target.
During X-mas I was on a two week furlough and spent to much time on AH. I was in on some fun camping and ended up with over 700 kills for that tour. If I can do it anyone can.
Kills in:
Panzer IV H 326 Sherman VC 353 T-34/76 5 T-34/85 5 Tiger I 31 Wirbelwind 27

I should add that it makes a big difference where you hit them, at what angle, at what distance.
There are threads on the AH BBS that have snapshots showing kill spots.

Yes, that is how I set my GV with a slight change. I have the 80 and 90 slider all the way up for quick turret turns and turning the GV. Did it help you?

I can make smaller adjustments to the gun a little easier. I tried gving a little last night but the bombers got me before I could find a gv to shoot at.
