Not that this is that great a sortie. But I thought I'd post a screenshot to give you guys something to aim at.

Mine was done in a lancaster, going to be pretty tough to match with anything else. As they just don't carry the bombload.

Anyway, post a screenshot of your best run, I want to see you guys bury mine.  Smiley

Did they change it again? The first day of the update I would see people getting over 20,000,000 damage.

20,000,000? best I got was 4890 in a b24:-( I took a Lancaster up and killed some ords and 2 bomber hangers but a 109 got one of my drones before i could kill him. so it wouldn't tell me that i landed.

Yep, 20 million. I thought it was weird. They must have changed it after the first day in one of the patches.

Wow! Nice Ghosth!

I will see what I can do in my B-26's. Do those points go just toward objects destroyed or do they add any on if you get any kills?

Think its just objects destroyed, kills are reported seperately. Happened after several guys who fly B25h and iL2 for GV suppression complained.  So now we get the best of both worlds, damage done and kills.

And I know its only a "fair" sortie, I think anyone who tried could beat it.
But I doubt the b26 carry's enough ord to get close. Although it might be fun to have a sort of running tally for each bomber.

Don't sell yourself short, Ghosth.. I've been eying your tally for awhile now.

After everybody left last night, I met up with some old friends for an NOE HQ busting run.

Was mostly posted as a target for some of the guys to shoot at.

As you have shown its certainly beatable with the right setup.

Hmmm might just have to crank up the lanc's this weekend.
Now that someone finally stepped up and gave me a better target to shoot at.

WTG Drone. Makes me think we should have a bomber ribbon for anyone landing over 15k of points.   thumbsup

I like the idea of having a recognition of maximum damage like that, but I think it should span across all bombers, not just maximum points attainable.  Call it a 'Buff Efficiency'.. 'Eggficiency?'

For instance, .. and I'm just making these numbers up for examples. We can get a better idea of realistic expectations with some real world data:

Lancaster 15k .. maybe 16k?
B24  12k
B17  12k
B26  10k
B25C 10k
B25H 5k?
JU88  10k

...
D3A   4k
SBD   5k..

etc.

I guess if everybody keeps an eye out on what sort of damage numbers scroll across the text buffer, we can come up with realistic measurables.

I would envision it as a single ribbon with each of the above being a criteria for achieving it.. Or. maybe there could be different classes for number of engines involved.

Separate awards for singles, duals, and quads?

Well we have a bomber ribbon but it doesn't seem to be given out much. Maybe we should tweak the criteria for it and just reuse it?

Best I've done in Lancs is 20384 on a strat run back in Feb. I didn't turn my film on until it scrolled but I did get quite a few of "wtg's" on film.

B25C 10k
B25H 5k?

...

WOW Kansas.. Awesome score!!

234s... Hmm.. 3000lb per plane.. ( 500kg x 3 ) .. roughly half a B26... I dunno.. say.. 3k points?

Maybe that's a good guage.. 1 point per pound of ord?

So if your loadout is 2k ( TBM, for example ) and you get 2000 points damage?  What is a typical damage done by a TBM ( I don't think I've landed many since the damage given was added )

Can someone list the bombers and the points for me?
I will then just cut and paste the list with the ribbon.

I've got a few technical questions.

Are re-arms allowed or single sortie?

Is there a difference between taking a single bomber vs. a formation (when available)?

Good thinking.

My opinion would be that it would be based on a single sortie.  Formations enabled.

I would think the goal of the ribbon would be to encourage efficient use of ordnance, so it would be based on a single mission.

However, as I would not want to dissuade anyone from re-arming and pressing on subsequent attacks, perhaps it could be defined as points per sortie.

So, using our TBM example ( 2000 points[under evaluation] for the Eggficiency Ribbon ), if I launched and made an attack, rearmed and reattacked, and rearmed and reattacked and finished with 6000 points, that would average out to 2000 points per sortie.. earning the ribbon.    5999 points, however, would have missed it by || much ( best Maxwell Smart impersonation, there ).

Since big birds cannot rearm the drones, that may not be possible.  But.. I'd be interested to see if the drones bombs count towards the total in the first place.

I made a High-alt strat run tonight 25k I got a little over 12k in damage points but when I tried to paste my screenshot in paint it was blank. Looked like this one.

Now I have to figure out how to make screenshots in win 7. I used the lancs with the 14 1000 pounders. I dropped 7 on the Fuel depot and 7 on the troop factory

I need more practice in bombing as a group because I don't do as well when we are formed up for some reason. Actually I can't hit anything most of the time

I've made a run in Lanc's and B17's since this thread started. Just waiting for the official numbers to be set to post my scores (and film if needed).         toothy9
