Hey guys.

Well I've spent the last 2 weeks researching Widescreen LCDs for my gaming needs. I wanted to share what I've come up with and purchased.

In a nut shell LCDs come in two flavors, fast response low lag screens, or vibrant colors and extreme viewing angles.

We want the low lag models of course.

In the end you really wont even notice the color difference with the TN models vs the fancy screens. ( Maybe if you are a photoshop guru or website dev). The viewing angle is a non issue also, sitting in front of your pc gaming.

So after learning what is what , here is the best bang for your buck, and the same model I just bought.

ASUS VW246H  24 inch

It's going for around $220.00 all around the net. After seeing that price I figured there was an issue with this model for such a low price.

It's awesome. It has VGA,DVI, and HDMI connects and runs 1920x1080 resolutions. (Which AH2 supports).

I'm very pleased with this monitor, I can't find one flaw with it other than the stand not being adjustable vertically, but the height was perfect for me per my seat height. My monitor arrived with no dead pixels either.

If you are interested in picking one up check out these steps for saving some money.. I recieved  $21.50 back in microsoft bucks using this offer.

"1. go to http://www.bing.com and search for "asus monitor ebay".

2. you will see a link to ebay at the top that shows a dollar sign on a coin and notice it says 8% cashback, click on that.

3. in the ebay page search for the the asus monitor.

4. in the list you will see one with free shipping, and click that one and you will see it's zipzoomfly at their ebay account.

5. click on buy it now, and on the next screen it will show a little price tag type thing with the amount of cashback you will get .

6. proceed to purchase.

you can do all this now w/out actually purchasing it to see the process and see what I'm talking about. also, you have to be signed up for the cashback process, which it will give you steps to as well, and signed up to paypal, because thats how you get teh cash back.

sometimes it's instant cashback, sometimes you have to wait 60 days for it, there really is no way to guarantee one way or the other.

as of now it's only 9% cashback, but like I said, starting august 10th, they are doubling the cashback so it should be 16% next week."

Make sure you have an account with the Bing website and zipzoomfly so that the cashback deal credits your account properly.

Happy gaming.

It's incredible the difference playing the same games , but now in widescreen

Thanks SunKing! Smiley

I broke down about 6 months ago and bought a 24" ViewSonic that I am very happy with.

Good info!
