I'm Confused, help

I had a session with Ren last night, but i couldnt understand what he was asking me to do and kept messing up.

We would merge and he was telling me to watch him as we went by each other, when he got to a point where i was looking back over the tail, he said roll wings level, pull up some and roll, and keep rolling then pull the stick back and i should be going at an angle to his nose. (i think) I kept ending up looping instead. I managed to do it once by accident but i cannot rely remember what i did and i accidently deleted the film when i crashed later on.

If anyone understands what he is trying to get me to do, could you help me out please.

Malap, you were passing nose to nose?

If he was behind you then it sounds sort of like the barrel roll defense.
Other than that I  don't have much to go on.
