What is the best way of gaining alt quickly after take off? I have tried a steady climb, a climb at the highest angle i can sustain and climbing, leveling to build speed and then going up at a steep angle untill my speed drops to much, rinse and repeat. But I'm not sure which is most effective.

In a combat situtation? Enemys inbound to the field you just rolled from?

Stay low, build speed, zoom climb/immelman. Done right you can get 2 - 5k. Repeat if needed.
Enough to at least give you a chance. If they are coming in from nosebleed alts, extend/climb away from where they are coming from.

If all is clear, then sure, use autoclimb, wep on. Just remember to shut wep off so it has a chance to recharge.
