With the recent change to the keymapping in AHII and not being able to have duplicate meanings or commands for a single key you need to keymap a few new keys for CM Eye to work.
These commands are:
1) CM Eye Move Back
2) CM Eye Move Forward
3) CM Eye Move Map

You then enter CM Eye mode using the View Mode Fixed command, F5, which was the old CM Eye view.

In my example I have set:
1) CM Eye Move Back to KEY_PAD_SLASH
2) CM Eye Move Forward to KEY_PAD_ASTERICK

Then from the Tower, as it was before, you hit F5 View Mode Fixed to enter that view and then the CM Eye Move keys will function.
As before your throttle control will change the speed you move around at and you should use very low throttle settings.
Also as before, the F1 view will bring you back to the Tower and exit View Mode Fixed.

I disagree with fuze in that you really don't need  to set a key to move map, as once you learn how to use the cm eye you can cross the whole map in seconds anyway. And its kind of a funky nose down, quick scroll across the map, but hard to see anything.

It really doesn't matter what keys/buttons you setup the CM eyeball to work with.
But you do need at bare minimum a key to move forward, and one for reverse.

To setup a stick to work with CM eye and Stick sets, first go to controls, map controllers, instead of mode 1, go to mode 3.
Then click the button that says "copy mode 1"

This will setup the joystick same as you use for flying. Pitch = up down, Roll = rolls, rudder = side to side or yaw.
Throttle controls your cm eye speed over the ground.

So, assume you want to setup CM eye on your stick.
Need one button, that in mode 3 you set to switch to mode 1. In mode 1 you set the same button to switch to mode 3.
So its like an alternating switch.

This gets you into Stickset mode 3 where your going to map the cm eye controls. And back out of it when rdy to fly again.

Set trigger to move forward.
Set secondary fire (button 2) to reverse.

Save changes.

You MUST have 1 button pushed, either forward or reverse in order to move your view. If you don't have a button held, you can't change your view, your locked where you start, half in and half out of the tower.
Warning, If you have throttle full, you'll find yourself on the other side of the map before you even get started.

Anytime you get lost, confused, disorriented, etc. Just hit F2 to pop back into the tower, then F5 and try again.

In TA, in tower, hit F5, set throttle to zero, hold the jstick button 2 (cannon fire) button, (For reverse) and gently add throttle, you'll see yourself lift back up and away from the field. Cut throttle, continue to press either trigger or button 2, practice orienting your view.  Couple of tips, go easy on roll, use rudder instead. Stick up or down to bring your invisible nose up or down. EASY on the throttle, esp at first.

With practice you can easily match any move any plane ever made, and lots they never did.

You can hang high above the fight, or dive right down and follow each twist, turn, and dodge.

If you have questions, yell.
