and someone to practice with.

I have a bandit coming in on my 12 high, too high for me to risk attempting to climb up to. they pass overhead and dive on my 6. I never seem to evade and always get shot down. I have tried to climb, Immelman and flat turn but the result is the same.

I could use advice on the correct evasion and someone to practice the evasion with please.

Don't climb, keep your speed at least at 200+ mph, so you have good manuvering speed.

Don't turn, go straight under him and extend.
If he dives in on you split S (wait till he's at 800, roll inverted pull back on stick)

Zoom back up on the backside till airspeed is just a bit above 200.

What you need to do is equalise Energy states. As long as he has way more than you, your not going to hurt him.

After a couple of split S's throw a fake in there, roll inverted, start to go nose down and flip back right side up and slip in under him.

Possible shot opportunity, and a great time to zoom, and equalise alt & energy.

Takes time, patience, light hands on the stick, perfect timing. And if you ever manage to do it you'll never forget that kill.

Planes with good acceleration and fair turn are the easiest to do it in.
La5, Yak, Spit 8 all come to mind.

Give me a yell Mal, I'll gladly show you how its done. But it does take time to master.
