Malap,
I'd be glad to show you how to do HI/MED/LOW/IN THE DIRT level bombing. I'll look for you in the TA and then we can go to one of the other arenas to actually do it.

Thanks Baumer,

Had a good night thumbsup, and got to use an A-20 as the jack of all trades that it is, Fighter, Bomber, and Attack.  Watching the film over again last night I realized my A-20's missed a golden opportunity that none of us noticed.  We flew passed an enemy airfield that had about 7-8 AR-234's siting on the runway getting ready to take off.  I think the ones we caught were the ones that just took off ahead of that group.  I was more concerned at the time of getting back into friendly territory in one piece so I didn't want to chase any enemy cons too far out of our way.  But the ones that are heading the same direction we were you can't exactly pass them up when you have 234's lower and slower then you are, that doesn't happen often.  Just wish I would have noticed all the ducks on the runway, now there's an opportunity that can't be passed up if found BangHead  Killing Tigers with 500 pounders is always tough, you got to hit them dead on, what will kill a panzer iv won't even track a Tiger.  So you end up using a lot of bombs to kill single tigers (well at least I do), I think I rearmed 3 times last night, albeit the last rearm I didn't end up needing.  Malap don't worry about not hitting anything dive bombing at higher alts, it's harder then hitting at lower.  When hitting Gv's the low alt dive bombing skill is what you need, when hitting hangers and other defended ground targets, the higher you can hit accurately the more likely you will survive.  I've got to give credit to my A-20's,  MajQball and Malap, you guys stayed close and brought the ships back from the bombing run intact, not always easy to do with A-20's carrying wing bombs.  I was scared from the beginning that I was going to lose an A-20 due to structural failure, but you guys did great icon_salut

Thanks for letting me tag along you mutts.  I had a blast.  Everything looked pretty good dealing with the 190's then a swarm of 109G's showing up, quickly turned the fight hectic.  The only way I could have maintained any kind of SA
in that environment is if I had 30 pairs of eyes and 4 more brains to process the info.   laugh

I took one D200 off of Baumer's tail only to find 4 more closing me quickly.  One took half of my right wing and I was done shortly after.

Y'all did a great job to survive in the bombers and have them for the gv portion of the frame.   thumbsup

After reviewing the film, my part of the fight went like this:
Flying on baumer’s 4 o’clock we had a clean merge with a group of 190s. Breaking right after the merge to reverse, I failed to notice a second group of six 109’s coming in from our three o’clock. We now had cons on two sides of us. While mixing it up with the 190’s the 109 were able to enter the furball from behind us. Once the 109’s engaged we were in a 9 vs. 24. Continually maneuvering to clear my six I was down to 6k in about four minutes. At this point I got a very quick snapshot on a 109 but missed. After missing the shot I had to maneuver hard left to shake a couple of 190’s on my tail. At this point I found Cajun and tried to drag the 190’s back to him. But he had his own problems with two 109’s attempting to lead turn him. Now I was down to 2k with a 109 and a 190 behind me, I evaded them for the moment but now my speed was down and a second 109 and 190 joined in. All four cons were now on my six and within 800yds. It wasn’t long before I got caught in crossfire from a 109 at my four o’clock and a 190 at my 2 o’clock. My aircraft disintegrated into a fireball and that was the end game.

It looks like the bombers accomplished their mission and that’s good. Maybe running a hammer and anvil with the 38’s at 18k and the pony’s at 22k would’ve helped but with those numbers it would be a tough fight no matter what. Overall an exciting frame and I enjoyed meeting and flying with everyone.

I know you escorts had a hard time of it, but you keep them busy. I can only assume they were the ones assigned to defend the base because when the bombers arrived along with the heavy P-47's (Swamp Dragons) we cleaned up.

I did lose a drone and no idea why. TeeeRex just saw it blow up over the enemy base. I don't think it was a Me-262 and I don't think any flak was going off, but it could have been a direct hit by a stray 88. Who knows.

Managed to land the B-26's, rearmed and out we went again. I dropped some eggs on some Tigers, but no joy. Had more fun spotting them for those of you in GV's. Smiley Finally landed with about 10 minutes left in the frame.

No telling what rides we get next week, but keep practicing in those Allied rides. Smiley

Sure wish we spotted those Jets on the enemy field. That would have been a hoot. Smiley

Imagine all the whines as a B26 drops ord on the RW with all those 234's just sitting there....LOL

All I can say is,man... I had 4 cons comming at me and couldnt read the distance, all the icons overlaped. Then I saw tracers and poof I'm in the tower.Had some issues when I logged into SEA,relogged, dico'd when joining DD,then again after leaving Earth... On a bright point though, did manage to kill 1 of the 3 tigers I had surrounded... thumbsup
