Morf,
Here is the mystical speed chart I developed. be sure to pull up to at least 400 agl to avoid the bomb blast. Just save the bitmap to your pc and place it in the maps folder in HTC and you can view it as a clipboard map.

How does this work Baumer? Is this for a particular AC? B-25?

Just saved it to my 'maps' folder. Smiley

Also do you have any bitmaps for the Ships gunner maps you made a while back? I printed those out, but if I recall they were PDF files.

Daddog,
This info will work for any aircraft. You can level bomb from a B-24 (going 230mph) at just 184 feet! I initially developed it for use in the bomb-sight but, it can work for any plane.

BIG NOTE: YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY JUMP TO PILOTS POSITION AND PULL UP TO 400 FEET TO AVOID THE BOMB BLAST.

I have tested every altitude listed below and they all work, but you must be quick to avoid the blast. Dropping at 60 feet in a Ar234 is a "bit" tricky to avoid the blast but it can be done.

I don't have clipboard maps of the ships gunnery. That would be a good project for later this winter, I think.

Daddog, the easy way to figure this out is to come to the TA.

Grab the plane you want to learn how to low level bomb in.

Get your speed up to max, NOTE altitude, and where the bomb impact point is.
Play around with it a bit until you can drop into a low dive to gain your speed.
Level at around the right alt, and have the trigger point worked on on your cockpit.

As you remember the B25 was the base of the gunsight.

With just minor practice you can pretty easily learn to hit your target from the pilots seat at high speed and low alt every time.

Example, I've had real problems ever hitting anything in the Arado 234 at altitude.
Because the speed is high your aim point is almost 1/2 sector ahead of you, out of visual range.

But low level, you can come in hot and low, line up on target, jump to cockpit, and plaster it as you scream by.
Then pull up to avoid the blast. All your adjustments can be made after you have visual on the target. Especially if your hunting small targets like enemy fleets.

Baumer of course is better at teaching and explaining this than I am.
Just call me an enthusiastic convert.  Smiley
