I like it. Some very noticeable changes. For one and the most obvious is the time it takes to now shoulder your weapon. Good and bad about that.

Good is if you are in position and come across a squad on the move that is closely grouped you can wipe them out in moments before they can get a shot off. I took out 4 guys yesterday on a street corner.  toothy9

Bad is, if you a fast and good shot your reaction time will be much too slow for your liking. Players like sondog who rule 90% of the guys they fight will hate it. I talked to Bision the other day and he explained the reason they did this was for players like sondog who play so well by themselves. The (as always) stress the importance of working as a team/squad.

Maps are really cool. I played yesterday on 3 new ones. I like them all.
Bad for me is how choppy it is. Even with the low settings I am still choppy. Since I am going to the Con and not getting a new system my PR days might be very limited depending on the map or how I can get it to run smoother. If I just spin 180 degrees it jumps or gets too choppy. It puts me at a big disadvantage when simply looking around.

You can't run as far as you could before and I think your recover time is a lot longer. Not sure the reason for that.

On a side note Bison is playing again which is a good thing, but he has joined another squad. The HOG. Sounds like he is having a lot of fun and was even helping them beta test the new version .8 before it came out.

I like it also.

When you and I were discussing the download I mentioned "oops, it says to remove all previous PR versions" as I was downloading the core, and you said you hadn't and it seemed to be ok.

So, I went with that and finished my download (core and levels) with out deleting my previous PR version.

I too had horrible "choppy" in-game experience. I then deleted all PR versions (including the latest) and then reinstalled the new version - "choppy" is now nearly completely gone!

I'd suggest to all that they delete/remove all PR versions before loading the new one.

Peace,

It sounds like a good update. I like the fact that a well run squad of 4 people can do better then a quick shot solo... That should improve the game a lot.

I'm sorry to hear that Bison has left. I wished he would had said something Considering he was 3IC. We'll have to find another 3IC then. Best of luck to Bison.

Okay,

I have to say the new version of PR is the best. I love this game. The new maps are great and I love the graphics... Of course it might hurt Rendog some with the higher graphics... Rendog and I was on last night and had a great time.....I get a lot more kills because I normally miss on the the first shot and now have time to get someone on the 2nd shot.

You must have a squad that works together for sure now. I was with a group of 6 players and we all worked as one, it was great. It was a lot of fun.

The one thing I don't like is the shorter sprints we now have... you pretty much have to just jog everywhere and save the sprints when you're crossing the street or being shot at. Because of this it take more time to move to one place. One thing that does work great is the ability of the squadleaders to talk to the Helo Pilots where to go and request for pick-ups.... because of this you now have squads that just fly Helos. It was awesome last night when I was with the squad and he requested a Helo pick-up all of a sudden from a distance you could hear the Blackhawks coming in and for me who has worked with Blackhawks (really Seahawks) it sounded very real... the landing was cool... they picked us up and dropped us off at another location. That is about as real as it gets boys.

I also like what they did to the M16s. They cut down the recoil which is more real life. It much easier to shot the 3 round burst and make sure all shots hit the target now.

I hope we can get at least 6-10 guys on this Saturday. If we do, it could be the best Squad night we have ever had.  thumbsup
