Team Spec Focus –West to run in 6 Hours of Buttonwillow

PALMDALE, Calif. Team Spec Focus-West (TSFW) will enter the #44 Spec Focus in the 6-Hours of Buttonwillow. This will be a grueling day-time Endurance race for the car, the drivers, and the crew. “This will be a good test for a Spec Focus race car”, Says Ted Severns; Driver and Team Manager. “I think we have learned a lot at the last Enduro and (we) should do better this time”. The 6-Hours of Buttonwillow will become the 2nd largest Endurance race in the Western Endurance Race Championship, second only the now famous 25-Hours of Thunderhill which is currently the longest race in America.

The Drivers for the #44 Spec Focus will be Ryan Lapp, the current NASA SoCal points leader in Spec Focus, along with Spec Focus Series Director Ted Severns. The team has added John Matthews as the 3rd Driver for this event. John is the Head Director for NASA’s HPDE (High Performance Driving Events) program. John has been racing all types of cars in both Sprint and Endurance Races. John has been an Instructor for NASA since 2000. “I’m really excited to run in the 6-hour race” Says John, “I have always been a big fan of the Focus and the Spec Focus Series, I can’t wait to race one”.

The race will start at 12:15PM and go until 6:15pm. This will be an event to remember and the conclusion of the race will feature a live band by the Mike Reilly Band and a fantastic BBQ Dinner! Team Spec Focus-West would like to welcome all its friends and family members to come join us in what will become the feature Endurance race in Southern California.

The #44 Ford Focus which will be in Spec Focus trim and will run in the E2 class of the WERC against other cars including, Spec Miatas, Spec 944, Spec E30, Honda Challenge 4, and other Performance Touring E and F cars.
