I am continuing to work on the off-line missions and I've created the first couple of new ones. Really they are just mods to the basic but now you have a wingman. Just a couple of things to explain first,

1 Don't worry about your wingman on takeoff, just climb and proceed on the heading it tells you, the wingman will warp to the fight just like you do.

2 Copy the text in the links below, save them with notepad as a .txt file in the offmiss folder.

The first mission I named  after Rowdy since it flies a Zero just about as good as he does, it's 2 F4F's v 2 A6M2's-

The second is for Optiker "The Corsair Wizard" Smiley it's 2 F4U-1D's v 2 N1K2's

And Finally, I had to do one for Daddog, just thought it was fun, 2 P-38J's v 2 Ki-84's

Let me know if you have any problems

EDIT: I've added a new directory and a couple more missions. When you follow this link just right click on the file and do a "save link as" to save it in the offmiss folder in AH2.
http://332nd.org/dogs/baumer/Off-LineMissions/

The Current Missions are-
Rowdys Revenge-  2 F4Fs V 2 A6M2s
Optikers Obstacle-  2 F4U-1Ds v 2 Ki-84s
Daddogs Dilemma-  2 P-38Js v 2 N1K2s
Earthdogs Escapade-  2 Spit VIIIs v 2 Bf109K-4s
Morfiends Mayhem-  2 Mossies v 2 Fw190A-8s
Cowboys Conundrum- 2 P-40Es v 2 Bf109E-4s
Ghosths Gambit-  2 D3As v 2 P-40Bs
Teeerexs Temerity-  2 P-51Ds v 2 Fw190D-9s

That was fun!
1st Flight - I took out a Ki-84 early on and (seems like they bail if they take moderate damage) and then with my wingman we took out the second Ki-84, but it was not easy.
2nd Flight - I missed my HO and they both worked over my wingman before I could get a solution on one of them. When he went down I took out one, but then it turned into a slow speed scissors duel. I had to have full flaps and about 1/4 throttle.. was riding a stall over the water. Had a couple shots, but only a couple sprites as he passed in front of my nose. I finally hit the water.
3rd Flight - Took one out in the HO and then the other as he was working over my wingman.
4th Flight - I flew the Ki-84 and took out BOTH P-38's in the first pass! LOL Wish I had my film on. They were so close I hit both in the noses and they both blew. Smiley
5th Flight - My wingman did not take off with me. Never had any mission directions. Something was wrong. I augured and tried again twice, but no joy.

Was fun to be sure! Smiley

Daddog, that's a bug with the off-line missions. The only way to recover seems to be to exit AH and restart it. But even that doesn't always work, I've found if you don't get the LEAD messages the best thing to do is, exit AH2 then start AH2 and go on-line, for example just log into and then exit the TA. Then you can go back off-line and the missions will work. It even happens with the default oneonone mission.

Just tried Ghosth's Gambit! Took out a P-40 with a few pings to the cockpit.. the other was a bear. Took several minutes with my wingman's help to down him. Smiley

 thumbsup

Fun stuff baumer.

yes, right click on the link and "save as" into the offmiss folder in AH2.

I was planning on naming one for everyone in the squad, just takes some time to make them and test 'em out.

BTW, what's your favorite plane? If I can I'll use it in "your" mission. Same goes for anyone else, just let me know what you like and I'll try to get it in.

Also, as of right now I can only do fighter vs. fighter. I'm hoping to figure out how to make the bombers behave more regulaly, if I put one in, it will try and dogfight with me and not fire any guns.

I think GV's should be figured out pretty soon, I'm still trying to work out the coordinate system. Most likely in the first iteration they will be stationary targets, but I'll let everyone know when I've made some progress.

Umm.. Spit IX.  Fighting a... 109 G2 or 6.

That's funny dogfighting bombers.

You should do one with A20s fighting Me 110s

Daddog, the most I've had run successfully is an 8 vs. 8. Any more and the mission may or may not run properly, even at 8 vs 8 it's kinda buggy.

For the time being I'm going to stick to small missions for stability. I'm thinking 2v2, 1v2, 2v3 should be good. I'd really like to get the bombers to behave and fire properly.

PLayed around last night with a couple of missions, first was the 40Bs vs the D3A, what a hoot. Those things are crazy maneuverable, I had a hard time getting a bead on them and did lose my wingman before downing both of them.

Second mission I went for the SpitVIII but never got a wingman or any instructions on heading/alt etc.

Probably a bug in the game.

Is there anywhere they are posting these missions?

d0gma, that's a bug in AH right now, if you look up a couple of posts I explained to daddog how to recover and get the missions working again.

Right now the only place that anything is being posted (that I'm aware if) is in a thread in the AH bbs in the general thread.

I need to figure out the bugs -- whenever I pick a west to east based mission I spawn as a bish at a knight base and die.  If I spawn east to west I no longer get the instructions or warps.  And The KI-84s I was to fight seemed to be moving at 500 mph away from me and they would never engage (apparrently I didn't get close enough.

forHIM, use the arena settings to rotate the countries around and maybe you can get it to where you're spawning from the right country.

Arena Settings -> Environment -> Country Reset.

forHIM,
When you go offline before you try a mission check the following;
-A1 should be a bishop airfield and you should be bishop in the tower
-A22 should be knight airfield

If that's the way it is than try the following;
exit AH2 and open a mission using notepad it should look like the text below.

Thanks for the missions  thumbsup

For the wingman not showing up, and not having instructions, I still took off with a P-40 and followed the flightpath shown on the map. I could see there WAS enemy activity on my sector, so maybe...
I was on an outside view mode scanning the sky, and WOOOHOO, two 109's were diving on me from my 6 !!
That was quite a fight, those AI's are not bad pilots Smiley
Finally I got one of them with the direct hit on the cockpit. Another one just disappeared after a while when I was getting slow and low with it. Maybe the game decided I won the match Smiley

I haven't tried other missions with the 'bug' yet, maybe the enemy is there waiting anyway Smiley

Cheers!

Sometimes they are and sometimes they aren't, still wait for info from HTC. If you fly both sides of the mission you can see where they overlap, that's where the bad guy's will be if you continue the mission with the bug. Be warned they are at 14k Alt, best to climb up before you get there.

there appears to be a timing issue also.  I lingered in the fight area for a while waiting for the AI to show up and after about 10 or 15 minutes the dar bar disappeared as did my flight lines.

forHIM,
When you start a practice mission do you see messages in the text buffer in white from "LEAD"?

I believe you may still be stuck in the bug. The only way I can tell you to clear the memory cashe is to go online to one of the arena's and then go back offline. This seem's to clear the memory and has always worked for me when the bug happens.

If the mission is working correctly, shortly after takeoff LEAD should give you a message like "take heading 180 speed 250 climb 2400 alt 500 feet". When I take off, I immediately turn due south, stay level until the airspeed gets to 250 or better, then start to climb. Usually within a minute of takeoff I "warp" to the engagement area and am cruising at 14,000 feet.

PERKELE!!! Our dog made a big poo on the floor during the day. Next, our iRobot did its 90-min daily sweep! Yes, it is everywhere!

I've updated all the missions with the editor and they appear to be more stable.

They are all now 4 v 4 instead of 2 v 2.

Lengro's is an exception, it's a 12 v 12! two flights of six SpitV's v two flights of 6 Bf109F's.
