VILLAGE IDIOT

« on: February 20, 2008, 10:27:35 AM »

This past weekend around 8am a pair of Moose walked accross my front lawn and spent some time touring around the neighborhood.  I got a chuckle seeing every neighbor looking out the window at the sight of them.  I decided to go into my 'gunsafe' and grab the digital camera and go out for some pics.

I spent 10 or 15 minutes staring at them as they walked about and missed several good chances for pics.  I got a few pics and some video before the local police arrived to herd them out of town.  It's been so long since I uploaded anything that I can't remember how.  But when I do .... I'll upload it.

Yes, please do!

Your post triggered a memory.

Many years ago I was staying at a friends cabin, next to a large pond outside Stark, NH, just to get away from "it all".

One brisk morning I stepped outside just to take in the morning air and the sceneary when I heard a noise that sounded like someone was running water from a high-held hose into the pond. Since this cabin was the only one near the pond the sound was out of place.

I took a look toward the source of the sound and got to watch a moose peeing into the pond. I stopped drawing water from the pond after that.  tongue5

Peace,

Try this link....I apologize for the crappy video, but I was outside, barefoot and moving from one foot to the other.  Why?  I have no freaking clue, perhaps it was the adrenaline - I mean how often do you see a site like this?

This is the second time that we've had Moose in the front street.  A couple summers ago I was walking to the car at 5:30am still half asleep and I walked right past a Moose on the neighbors lawn.  I did not even know it was there until I heard its hooves on the sidewalk 5 feet behind me.  That was a skid mark moment if ever there was one....once it walked past the car, I quickly ran into the house and got the camera and took some pics of it.  I think I posted them here at one point......
