I have used Altec Lansing for years, but my last one died in about 11 months. Was a surprise to me so I went with Plantronics this time around.

Interesting... I've been looking around for a set specific for my AH2 play. I currently have one set that is for all other games besides AH2. It's a fancy 5.1 headset for gaming- http://www.medusa-usa.com/product_info.php?products_id=896&f=froogle They are expensive but kick butt in all FPS games where sound directions is a factor. In AH2 I would hear EVERY plane engine in every direction, I couldn't track anyone like I could with a 2speaker headset. So for AH2 I was looking for a wireless headset this time around..( to many darn wires these days) I'm currently looking for reviews on these babies. http://www.soundonusa.com/products/phr400/I've tried all the plantronic and logitech headsets too. If I was to suggest one I'd say plantroics for sure, logitech always go bad so quickly. Another factor to think about with headphones is how they connect to your pc. If you are running AH2 on an aging PC and can't afford to waste CPU cycles on anything but the game, try to avoid the USB headsets. Get a pair that plug directly to your soundcard jacks.

I've never really desired to have a good set of headphones for gaming, but after seeing the Medusa and reading some reviews, I'm tempted to buy one and just do away with my little surround sound setup in my computer room!
They may be awesome enough to get me to play on the ground a bit more in WWIIOL!

I've had Plantronics ( no USB ) for last four years now and they work great. I can hear and can be heard as well:) I used to have logitech USB earphones but they broke down due to very thin wires. I still have a pair of Labtec earphones as a spare. They are very good as well, but if I had to buy a new ones, I'll go for Plantronics.
Cheers! Harppa

PERKELE!!! Our dog made a big poo on the floor during the day. Next, our iRobot did its 90-min daily sweep! Yes, it is everywhere!

I thought about the Turlebeach because of all the directional sounds that are very important for the first person shooters, but the reviews were not that great. They seemed to break down after a short while.

Mine are over 3 years Old and they hit the floor more then once do to anger and they are still tip top head seat bit pricey when I was used to getting the wallmart specials $ 25 to $40 but they did not seem to hold up to the abuse I put my headsets threw ( Hit the ground sit on them )

It's hard not to.
I got my arse beat so bad by Shawk last night I had to get up and walk the dog before I did something stupid.
The bad beats in poker don't even compare to getting shot down when you think you are actually doing the right thing.
It's a game but with the actually skill factor involved it's a real challange and a serious hobby that's hard not to take seriously.
