I just upgraded my system and will be able to run this game. Is it strictly online or is there a scrpited game with option to play online?
Something to add to the Christmas list.... COD4

Ya theres a single player game. Its about a couple hours long. Plays out like an action movie with all the scripted events and cut scences.

Okay, how is the online play? Is it like America's Army where there are multiple servers? 8 per side etc? Is there a ton of cheating and hacking?
I'll have to look for this. I was going to look into BF2 for playing with the dogs, who knows perhaps we can all play this one.

It's kinda like AA but faster pace. There are hundreds ( probably thousands after this weekend) of servers hosting the game. The game also boasts over 5 different game types and then a "hardcore" version of each.
My favorite is Search and Destroy. It's a blatant ripoff of Counter strike gameplay but super fun.
1 side has the bomb. The other defends the 2 targets (weapons caches).
One team tries to plant the bomb and defend it till it goes off. The defenders try to kill the attackers or defuse the bomb once it's been planted.
I've seen servers with 32 players. I usually play the 28 player servers.
It's good mindless entertainment. Don't play it looking for realism, only thing real are the weapon models/gear and names.
I think the majority of the Dogs will pass on this one unless they are gamers in general. It doesn't compare to RO or PR in the realism dept.

What are the system specs needed to run this decently?
Also, for the kids, is the amount of blood/gore adjustable?

Well I'm running these currently. With the settings maxed its smooth as ice.

The Blood can be toggled off. There's just a vauge cloud when a person is hit.
I wouldn't let children play it. There's graphic violence in the single player game and foul language.
