I had a duel last night with Dedalos and I've never been beaten so fast in all the time I've been playing this game. It looked like this  violent5 quickly. He was good about offering training on what i did wrong and I've filmed it. I lost the merge on every engagement. I'm requesting help in learning the proper way to enter the merge and what turns to make at the first break. The film showed that I was over aggressive and ended up turning in front of him to die in a blaze of bullets.

I'm willing to put in extra time in the TA/DA to at least become competitive.

Morfiends right in his suggestion to ask as most of the better sticks in AH will gladly help out.  that is the ones that are not in it for the glory but for the fun as most want you to get better so that they themselves can get better. i myself get more enjoyment out of that one vs one that makes my blood pump then i do in landing a high kill sortie.  when i get more time to fly I'll be glad to help ya with merges but right now I'll point u to the AH trainers web page and more precisely to Murdr's files

http://trainers.hitechcreations.com/

some that i think will help u out the most are his file's on Immelman exercise ,  vertical turn discussion and film , and post merge turn films and reading the write up that is linked there. the Immelman exercise i still do when i feel like flying but either don't have time to up in the MA or the desire to deal with the MA. the biggest problem i find in most of my fights are 2 fold 1 the opponent really doesn't have the proper technique when doing a turn and 2 doesn't really have any idea on which turn to do. the reason i say this is an improper turn will bleed more E putting them at a E disadvantage and the wrong turn will put them in a position disadvantage. notice i did not say alt disadvantage just because your opponent has a alt advantage or disadvantage really figure more into the total E equation and just because he is lower or higher doesn't nessarly mean he has more or less E. another big problem i find in most merges is opponents do not set up their AC properly if your bird is faster then optimum vertical maneuvering speed. being to fast is almost as bad as being to slow the difference is to fast will still give u enough speed to recover from your mistake where to slow most of the time will not. remember the faster a AC the greater distance it will take to turn it. guys will come into a fight full speed some will even wep into one well before the merge this creating a bigger circle for their opponents to get inside. others will pull to hard to fast into a turn thus pulling hard G's into them that a steadier easier pull would and burning more E.

last but not least i always have and always will promote the use of the AH training staff. the one big thing with these guys is their ability to relate the information to others in a way that makes it clearer to them. i can do some stuff in a pony that others just do not understand but i am at a lost most of the time when it comes to explaining how i do it this is where these guys surpass me by leaps and bounds.

good hunting

Twolf, if you want to be competitive in the F4u I strongly advise that you hook up with TC.

Widewing, murdr, badboy are also good. But to my knowledge he is as close to tops in a F4u as your going to see.
For sure he's one of the top 5 f4u pilots, and he's going to be way better at teaching than anyone else.

He does have a pretty busy real life, so you need to have patience.

I'd suggest you start by emailing trainers@hitechcreations.com

Give us some background, and exactly what your looking for help on.
See what offers you get, if that doesn't work I'll set something up with TC personally.
He owes me a favor or 2.

BTW no shame in losing to Dedalos, he's one of the top 20 sticks in AH. He'll hand you your head with a smile.
Takes time in game and time with a good trainer to get to that top level.

Thanks Folks,

I've contacted the trainers and hopeful can set up some appointments. I may be asking some of you to practice with me if your available. I would appreciate your time.

Thank you,

He is a great stick no doubt. I will say a word of warning. He will turn on you like a rabid dog if you don't fly like he thinks you should. I have shot him down in the AVA in the past when I had the advantage and he became very ugly. Clashes with him in the AVA and his tainted view of me coupled with his lies about my whining and other things turned me off so much I very rarely fly in the AVA any more. In his world it should be one vs one. You should never interfere and of course he would want it that way because he can beat 98% of everyone in AH in the one on one. But if two Mongrels were to go after him (though quite honestly he would probably shoot both down anyway;)) and to shoot him down you would enjoy a different person.

While he was nice enough, I knew it would be a better learning environment for me if things where coming from people recommended by people I trust. Ghosth and Rowdy took quite awhile with me last night before we went to the MA. They showed me several things that I've never heard of in the time I've been playing and Ghosth got me hooked up with TC and Widewing for some intense training. Thank you for the warning. He did not know I was a Mongrel Applicant until after our duel. I don't know if that changed things in his eyes or not and it shouldn't. I seen nothing but stand up guys in this squad. I prefer to avoid folks that say I need to play a game a certain way just the make them happy. I enjoy the easier going mentality that puts people before the game. The planes are free and I may only last for a few minutes in a fight but the freindship can last a lifetime. That's what I'm looking for.

Ded won't look down on you for an affiliation to this squad but what DD said is correct.  He prefers the 1v1 even though he's picked my tail more than once in the AVA.  No big I always get a new plane .  He and Storch tend to whine too much for my tastes but, taken individually, they are both okay.

Meh... learn from anyone you can and, if they shun you for affiliation to this squad, it's pretty much jealousy talking anyway.

Of course that's just MY opinion Wink
