Project Reality.     http://www.realitymod.com/

I was lucky to come across this hidden gem.  Turns out, Speedee plays it too.

To describe it I would say it's Red Orchestra, meets Americas Army on the Battlefield 2 game including all the planes/helio/tanks ect assoiciated with the BF2 game engine.

The game just feels right to me. No more silly arcade physics and goofing off.

There's alot more to talk about but I don't have the time, just giving everyone a headsup on another great mod.

Neat promo video for this mod.

Sunking,
saw the Battlfield 2 disc for sale at newegg for $37, the original game with 2 mods and an addon. Will it support online gaming with a 56K modem? How much is the realiity mod?

The mod is a free download. It's 1.8 gigs though. Way to much or a 56k modem to download.

On a modem I'm sure the game would be unstable requiring low ping times.

The only two games I've played on a modem that ran good were Aces High  and Red Orchestra.

Optiker BF2 is a fun game. I have been playing it for a couple years and still enjoy it for an hour or so every week.

You don't have DSL? If you don't try to move away from the dial up and get some kind of broadband. Very few games online any more can be played on a modem.

Roger daddog,
on dialup - they're running Fios onto the island now - will have to see what that entails. I'm too far away from a repeater to get decent DSL signal - so I'm stuck for the time being.
Aces high runs fine on dialup - as a matter of fact, I need to slow down connection to 28.8 - makes connection much more stable.

Daddog,
Called Siesta Key, one of a series of barrier islands running up the west coast of Florida. They start down south with Key West and are intermittantly scattered along most of Florida's Gulf Coast. Because of potential hurricane damage, everything now has to be run underground - Fios is just being laid now - will have to see what is involved in getting that installed.

If you can get FIOS, you'll be happy.  I wish I could get that option.

SunKing. I tried this today but did not have a lot of luck. Does it have single player AI? I did not have any maps so I could not try it single player. Is there a place to download the maps?

Lucky -- a group of AH CMs play AA.  I was just on.  We stick to a private server and play coop missions mostly.  If you're interested I can check with the guys and you should get an email next time its up and we're playing.

Well I tried the Project Reality Mod last night for the first time.
Keep in mind this is my first time playing online multiplayer shooters in years since my old dialup would not work.

It was fun and I could see enjoying it even more with those I know. I would enjoy playing a first person shooter with you guys and I know sondog would too.

How would it work as far as setting up a server? Can you be a server and play at the same time?

That would be great Speede. Thanks! Smiley You play with anyone I know?

I have played it 3 times now and enjoy it every time. Would be 10 X better with squadies or friends. Smiley I enjoy the first person shooters, but have never been able to play them online due to my slow dial up.

I remember years ago Vader, TeeeRex, myself, Hamered and his two sons would get on and we would play Rainbow 6. What a hoot that was. Not long after that my dial up was not good enough for FPS. Smiley

Thanks Speede!

What is vent? Oh... voice communication? You don't use Team Speak or Roger Wilco?

When are you on playing? Any particular day of the week? Times?
