The night of disco's and much higher 190s. I disco'd early and listened to most of the fight. I rode with Cutt of the 325th. He got a bomber hangar and RTB'd to 42 with 1 elevator, 1 engine, and no rudder.

Simaril & I ended up RTB to 66, rearmed, there was a single a20 there that was going back so we headed back to target. Got there just as another group of our guys with a nice big bunch of a20's arrived from the opposite direction. Even with the reinforcements I saw at least 12 190's sitting high over target swooping on anything that moved like vultures.
Lost Sim as he was typing something on the radio. Sounded like he was giving it his best, but to no avail. I got hit hard, was pilot wounded, oil hit, missing gear and guns. Tried to get out to rtb, but got ambushed by a 190 about 10 miles out from 60.
End shot, we had 3 kills for the night. HeavyH got 2 (Big WTG heavy!) And Skernsk got one. That 190 pilot must have been an arthritic, crippled up blind hun for skernsk to get one. Still, a kill is a kill. Grin (ps skersk, still waiting for that 5 spot)
Rough night for the dogs, we were outnumbered & outclassed all the way.

LOL Ghost, you are right, that guy must have been the bottom of a barrel pilot for me to score one. I was within 200 or less of at least 4 190's and could not land that 37mm to save my life (of the A20's). I was getting a call to break but still had 9 rounds and was not giving up with ammo in the airplane.
I saw an explosion as my wing was sheared off .. not my best effort. Is it only five I owe you Ghosth? Meet me in the O'club and we'll square up bro.
Oh, and I made a new sig to commemorate 100.

Well I was wondering all night how it went. Sondog was very frustrated. He had been practicing in the Yak for 2 days. Had about fighter kills in it (told him to go after fighters and not bombers) and he was ready. Then our ICS went down and he could not get on. He called me on my cell phone as I was driving 580 to the 205 for home, but nothing I walked him through would work. He went to bed very disappointed he could not fly with you guys. I will look at it this morning and try to figure out what is wrong. My summer is here! I will work a couple days next week when I choose and then I am done! PHEW!

Was a frustrating night for me too, Daddog -- but not because of the connect problem that's been dumping me over and over lately!
I arrived 5-10 minutes into frame because of real life issues, not even sure I'd get to fly. The group was awaiting their A20s, so I was able to play catch up by putting the pedal to the medal and sacrificing alt for speed. While zipping along just hoping to catch sight of the team, Repoman PM'd me about squad affiliation -- apparently my walking on in Husky had erased my 332nd affilliation and left me with no uniform. Repo said "No problem, just don't do it again" so I thought all was OK....but more on that later.
Within minutes of my reaching our trailing elements we were jumped by a number of higher 190s. They mostly tangled with Mongrels in the higher escort, and the A20s were apparently down on the deck. (I say apparently because I only saw one briefly) While the gang was busy I tried to focus on our primary mission, and raced ahead with CupDawg to the base at A60. Spotted several cons on the deck at the lake north of town, and they turned out to be 3 190s attacking an A20 and one of our escorts. I was way too hot to be effective immediately, and it took me a couple yo-yos and some throttle work to get behind one. By that time, our side was down an A-20 and the fighter was in trouble....but I was able to get one saddled and popped him. (Those 37mms do give a really nice effect when they hit right...."Instatower")
As I recall, the escort was dead by then but some mongrels had arrived. It was 2v2 then 3v2, and maybe back to 2v2 as I think another mongrel died there. Ghost and I were fighting off the 2 remaining 190s, and with some pretty intense maneuvering we got the lower 190 dead. He got creamed into some trees beneath me, and I think I got a proxy. The last one, a late arrival with more E, zoomed up and away towards his base -- and we elected to let him go.
By this time we were well and truely separated from our main body, so Ghost and I decided to RTB at a closer base. Turned out to eb a good thing, because the remaining Mongrels leaving the same way they came got hit pretty hard. Ghosth and I cruised on in to 66, and found JoeDog in an A20 waiting for a chance to do a timed NOE attack. We hung around for a few to let the cover clear and another attack go in , then Ghosth, an La5, and I went in at 10k hoping to engage covering fighters and drag them south away from JoeDog's coming attack.
A few miles north of the radar circle, we were spotted by 4-5 190s cruising a good 5K above us. We wanted them south, so we proceeded on and they passed over us. I watched them till out of icon range, thought they were buiff hunting, and went to type a warning to JoeDog. Bad idea, since apparently one of the 190s split S'd and dropped in behind me. My first warning was that of hits on my right wing, but I reacted well enough to survive....by chopping throttle, nosing down into neg G's and rolling 5-10 degrees. The 190s energy worked against him, and he must have overshot since the hits stopped before I was dead. Quick damage check showed I'd lost my airelon and fuel on that side. Thinking I'd do no good, and remembering to think like a "one life' pilot should, I decided to spilt S and RTB. That got me a fair head start on the now pursuing 190...and by the time he did a hard reversal and chased, I had enough speed to outlast him. He closed to 1.5, then slowly to 1, then he inched to 800 -- but since the Yak was faster overall I figured that meant he wouldnt catch me at all. He hung at 800, then gave up..and I rtb'd to land.
The really frustrating part came when I saw that my kills were to be erased since I hadnt relogged after Teee re-invited me to the squad. I guess they are making a point, but it still kinda stinks....especially since Repo said I was OK.
Still had fun, and this marked my very first FSO that I ended on the runway. Ever.
Still waiting for my first "survival" that counted, though.....

Must be because of the squad thing, but the CM's would not erase any kills. They just take the raw logs and input them into what forHIM designed for them. So the logs don't show you with any kills??? How many did you get?

Well I stand corrected. I guess they would. I saw the FSO post. Not something I have seen them do before, but I actually like the idea. It is something they should do with walk on's, but not with regular attendees of a registered squad.
I put in my two cents. We will see what they do.

Simaril APDrone sent me this reply. Heya daddog!
Yeah, when he said he got the 'OK' from Repoman, then I decided to drop the penalty. I'm just leaving the scores as they are, for now, so that other squads see an example of things to come.
I'll get the scores updated when I get back from rehearsals late tonight. I've got some other things that need to get done before then.
Thanks for the shout!

With the chaos of last night's frame start things were missed. DD's orders indicating a19 didn't help The CM forum has a thread going on the infractions. Rep0manx responded as have I, it's ultimately up to APdrone as he's the admin, but the 20 points should be restored. The log parser doesn't remove the kills unless I do it inside the database. I invited Simaril into the squad, but didn't remember to do a .sqdname to change it. In the future, we can inviite members in, then do a .sqdname to set the name and the members won't need to log. Based on the first pass, I would have said that A60 was less than 25% damaged, but at the end of the frame, the Allied must have done some good runs on it. I disco'd just prior to the T+20 mark, but chose not to reup as I would have been out of position and the group was in the middle of a furball. I joing Cutt as he was getting hammered by a 190. I scared him away, but Cutt lost a lot of parts. He still made a great drop on a BH taking it out and then RTB'd south expecting our LA5s to overfly us and protect us. Unfortunately we didn't see them at all.
