To get someone off your 6 you need to do one of 4 things.
A Don't let him get there in the first place. Seriously if they are getting on your 6 constantly you should be looking at your merge tatics. Not sure what merge tatics are? Set up a time to meet me in the TA.
B Make him lose sight of you. "Lose sight lose the fight" This can be causing him to blackout, esp if he's higher/faster than you. You'll be able to see when he can't. Then make a move he doesn't see.
If he's diving in on you ie higher faster, do a split S. About the time he's 800 back roll inverted & pull back HARD till your right side up again. A higher/faster plane won't be able to follow you tight enough. He may plow into the ground, or rip his wings off.
Or do a wingover, snap reverse or other manuver that takes you under his nose. Once out of sight, another quick manuver and its an even game again. Any move that he's not expecting, that deny's him the ability to see your next manuver should work. This is where you tell the men from the boys.
c My personal fav if I have altitude, is like a scissors move only in the vertical. Go nose down, keep rolling, pull out partially in 1 direction, say N, roll 180 & pull out south. Rinse & repeat till your out of altitude. The idea is to get them out of "phase" with you. IE while your pulling out south, they are still pointed north, trying to play catch up. Do this right and you'll shortly be under their nose, out of their sight. This works esp well aganst planes that compress badly. The idea is to end up going north when they lose sight of you & are looking south.
D Force an overshoot. Flat sissors, rolling sissors, big barrel rolls while you cut throttle. These work best if he's above/faster but you do not have altitude. Timeing is critical, the idea is to manuver to deny him a good shot while bleeding speed, or making your flight path longer than his to cause him to overshoot.
Its at the bottom of the list for a reason, its the last chance you get before you die. Works best against planes that are faster than you but don't turn/roll as well.
FYI all of these are designed to be flown in faster planes. If your in a spit, well, its turn & burn till you die.
La7, Yak, p51, Typhoon, 109G10 etc.
Yak9U is the most underflown plane in AH for what it can do. Its reasonably fast, nimble enough to give a spitfire driver nightmares. Its biggest drawback is short fuel endurance & a small ammo clip.
It excells at vertical manuvers up to 16k, and is a great plane for landing 1 -3 kill sorties all night long. Just take your time, pick your fights, then take the scalps home.
