Well we had kinda a rough start. The first two bases we wanted to take did not work out, but the two after that did. Sim and TANK both lead some flights on the way to take a VH base. Ghosth also lead Red Flight on our initial mission.

The first VH base we tried to take cddawgs and myself had troops on the east side of the mts, but we could not time it right. Enemy aircraft and enemy vehicles kept us at bay. He was shot down on the east side and I manged to drop my troops, but with enemy vehicles on the ground I doubt any made it. After that we did an NOE mission. Sim lead some 190A8's and TANK lead the Me-110G's. Teeedog dropped some troops, but an enemy vehicle was up and they did not take. Vaderr, TeeeRex, Dichodog and a couple others came back to kill the vehicles, but more came out. I finally heard someone else was on the way with troops so I headed for a near by airfield that Simaril and TANK were working over with their flights. I made it to that field and we captured it. Moments later the first VH base we worked over was captured.

After that we did a GV run and almost captured a third, but HeavyH found a couple building up that we missed. I finally flew an aircraft and managed to down a couple 110's with the help of SunKing, Vaderr, Bison, and TeeeRex.

Like a goof I forgot to turn on my film. Can someone post a roster of who showed up?

I also posted about it being too dark with the new update. I could hardly see with my old 21" monitor.

Put in your two cents if you like. I know there has been other threads about the darkness, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Wink

I feel like I really messed up the first mission and owe Simaril an apologize

A P51 swooped in on us And thinking I was closest I began pursuit. Sim started calling us back and I
turned to follow, but then Dicho told me to continue after the 51. At that point I thought We were
the only two after the pony, but it appears everyone but Sim went after him as well, and of course I
hit a tree.

Staying in formation is something I really need to work on. I took it to heart the next sortie and stayed
as close to Tank as I could.

This guy seems to have fixed his gamma to look good.

I hope HTC use his 2nd picture as a guide for the corrected settings.

In mission nites like these, it really doesnt matter. We're there for fun, and that's not just an polite excuse -- it's the truth!

But the day will come that we're back in Friday Squad Operations, where there are definite objectives and "points" that go with them. We're not likely to be the guys playing to win at all costs, but it IS nice to get that feeling of accomplishment, of a job well done. To do that, we will need to keep our eyes on the prize, and focus on getting the job done for the team.

Right now, we can learn what works and what doesnt. WHEN we're goal oriented (which ISNT now) it'd be better to look at what's between us and the goal. If that con needs to be killed, kill him. If killing him pulls us off the task we've been assigned, then don't let the kill hurt the team....remove him from the equation positionally, and leave him go.

That's just my opinion, of course. And I'm sure there are guys here who can help the team best by the free hunt, the lone wolf approach...not that there's anything wrong with that (tip of the hat to Seinfeld there).

No offense taken Sim and now that I've got more than 30 seconds to post here's what was going through my mind.

Tsnow is a pretty decent stick and I'm more than comfortable with him watching my tail.  We had a lot of guys up heading to target and I figured we could chase him off far enough to get him 'shiny thinged' on something other than our guys and rejoin the group.

I lost SA and posit on snow (my fault for not flying with him more often) and after that it was playing catchup ball the rest of that flight.

Here's a suggestion for flight leads in the future for similar situations.  Call out a section (dicho and wing drop ord and prosecute) and everybody else stay with the group.  I kind of took it upon myself to do what 'I' thought was best in the tactical situation and it turned out to be the polar opposite of what should have been done given the strategic considerations.

Lesson learned well sort of I'm kind of dense and have to fail a couple hundred times till it seeps in

We also need to let the flight leads call the shots. I find myself often taking over and making decisions. Ghosth is as bad as I am. If someone is flight lead and we are in their flight we need to do what they say. Smiley

That was a fun night, till my game started randomly locking up ( I had them when the me-262 patch came out).

Voice coms were crazy. I've never seen so many squadies on at once. The Ghosth - Teerex banter is always funny and entertaining to me.

I missed flying with you guys, glad I'm back.
