This time, we're playing the good guys, sinking lots of Japanese ships in the Pacific.

Can be found in stores and also downloaded: http://silenthunter4.uk.ubi.com/

If we get enough people with the game we need to get together and attack an enemy convoy.  There is a mission out now where you can attack the Pearl Harbor attack fleet.

I picked it up. Theres a ton of bugs, and more than a handful of historical inaccuracies. But its a lot of fun. And it looks nice most of the time.

Its interesting to see how the US subs work compared to the uboats. The position keeper is really nice to have. Once you know what your target is doing, you can fire blind at any time, and the torps should hit. There is no need to do all the calculations you do in a uboat to get a hit.

Interestingly ubi didn't get permission to use certain aircraft. so instead of seeing 17s flying around, the airforce is using lancasters.

Apparently you can't use american medals anymore without permission. ubi didn't get permission, so the medals are generic. I don't think I've ever seen a game where you get a wounded medal instead of purple heart.

Thankfully there is a medal mod to add the real medals back.

Also, I would recommend checking out the subsim.com forums, along with ubi's own.

I would highly recommend a few mods.

real fleet boat, or flavored to taste. one or the other. I havn't tried the newest FTT yet, but its suppose to fix some of the radar and other problems. RFB hasn't been updated in a few weeks.

there is a problem with the ship sizes, so if you're using manual targeting you'll need the JP ship dimension fix. Auto targeting isn't affected.

The game doesn't convert measurements to imperial. If you use manual targeting, your range from the stadimeter will be in meters, not yards. Deck gun shows meters no matter what.

360 bearing tool is a must.

ultimate sound pack, and real diesel engine sound mods. Liven things up a bit.

can get them all from here, plus the 3 or 4 that come out everyday:

I also printed up an is-was. Neat little device. Waiting for the kriegsmarine version.

Certainly a difference from playing silent service in 4th or 5th grade.
