Well after the short duration of the SEA event last night. Most of us headed back to LW Blue arena.

Before the event we'd been getting pounded down south by the AK's.

So when we came back I was looking for a new venue, with lots of action.

Quickly spotted big furball between C8 and A9.

Suggested that we all jump up in carrier planes & have some fun.

Not sure exactly who flew what, I know we had outlaw, tank1, asadog, myself plus the 3 motley crew (Bison, Tsnow & UpYour6)

First pass the majority of us flew A6m's, although I saw a few spitfires.

So I am climbing in the CV groups ack umbrella, letting everyone get up. Eventually we had a nice big orange mass so we turned SE to the furball.

OMG, I have not had that much fun in a LONG long time in AH.

Roll in behind something, fire short burst, then someone is calling 6 for me, break hard.
Duck, dodge, turn & roll till my 6 is clear. Then reaquire a new target and go again.

It seemed like seconds later I had 2 kills and 2 assists, was out of cannon & trying to get back OUT.
Every time I thought I was clear I'd turn for the CV group and someone would call another plane in on me.
Thats the one down side to the really nimble zero, there is only one way to exit a fight. Kill everything in sight and hope you can get back before more enemy's arrive!

I did make it out the first time to land, second time I had another 2 or 3 kills I wasn't so lucky. Still it was the most fun sorties I'd had in AH in years. Was great to be flying with the pack in full howl and not worrying about anything. Just pure diving into the furball & turning & shooting till your ammo was gone.

The teamwork I saw was awesome. Dogs were covering dogs, clearing 6's, piling on to tear down a big fast plane. Then scatter out again to engage spits in ones & twos.

Thanks to all for reminding me what its all about. FUN!

Thsi is really weird - because Daddog, sondog, and I had almost the EXACT same furball in EW last night around 7-8pm. We were on the A9 base in EW, upping zekes against carrier aircrat from Bish and land aircraft from a rook base to the south.

An absolute riot.

And yeah, flying the A6M2 and seeing how it turns and loops -- absolutely no doubt in my mind that to fight them, you never ever ever slow down, and you nefver ever turn with them. Fortunately, there were quite a few Rooks and Bish in EW who needed to be taught that lesson!
