Sondog said he had a fair time. He ended his night in the AVA. How did it go for you guys? I did not get home till about 12 midnight eastern.

I have the AVA setup next week starting the 2nd. I plan on Italy 1943 I think. Smiley Of course I have to work late that Friday night again. Sad

A bit diisappointing mostly because there weren't enough bad guys. We definitely hung together, and were there to cover each other well. We did bag some kills...but we also spent a lot of time chasing DAR bars that vanished when we got there. It was mostly the design of the map, which clearly favors GV work -- the airfields were just too far apart.

So we went to MW, where we reversed a fairly nasty rook vs nit advantage. With the mongrels there, nits had a slight advantage -- but the rooks there played more "run from the enemy" than confront him. We redeemed the night by capturing 3 or 4 bases in a row, against very little opposition. After the first few Fighter vs fighter kills, the rooks moved into "kill the goon" mode. They got 2 of them (I think Dicho and Hawco both took at least one for the team) before that first capture; then several of us upped Mossies to attack  the town and still fighter protect. Sondog climbed to, and I think killed a spit that was orbiting 10 K above the first base we attacked; but, he may have lost that first fight but draggged the spit down to where others killed him, i dont know for sure. Meanwhile, a P-51B was hunting closer to the approach path for the goons, and got one before I could get there. Once he had come down, though, he was stuck in a dogfight and he ended up losing to a burst of concentrated Hispanos. (But I pulled to hard for the kill shot, snap stalled, and couldnt regain control before hitting the trees)

After that, we rolled over a V base and then took an airbase to its north. Several GVs were toasted at the V base, but the Airfield was unopposed. The rooks were working on Knight bases somewhere else...

Several guys (including me) had to log after that, and I'm not sure if anything else happened.

I've sent another long email to Skuzzy asking for some other ideas about what could be causing the vox problem Mandos and I have. In the meantime, I'm going to check in to a standalone vox server, like Teamspeak, to see if we could run that in the background. Using it would require Dogs to log into that software as well as log in to AH, but it would let me hear in the Orange arena. I am feeling guilty about limiting our choices, though I know I'm doing everything I can to resolve the problem.

that p51 capped me in a goon twice!!!! LOL...

So I upped another one and before I got there Optiker dropped his troops... We captured that base, I landed, and started to hear about troops for the Vbase.  So I up another goon... somebody I think from another nit group got there with troops before I did.  Cool so I go to the Vbase and wait until it pops and grab a troop carrier.  Drive drive drive drive and somebody else gets troops to THAT base before I do.  By that time the Keystones were kicking in and I decided to log and hit the rack.  Fortunately or unfortunately as it may be I caught a moment alone with my brother in law who was crashing here last night and we wound up discussing important matters as regards to family situations over the last 15 stones in the pack until about 4 am.  Subsequently I've felt like poo all day and, other than paying bills, this is the first time I've touched the comp today.

All in all it was a good night for the squad IMHO and I had a good time ESPECIALLY when I saw that somebody (I thought it was you Sim) got the Pony driver that killed me twice.  I just kind of giggled ironically when the 3rd base in a row I was bringing troops to turned blue.  Cheesy

Good turnout in my opinion and I had a good time but I want a JATO goon next time I'm bringing troops.  I'm tired of getting the silver medal Wink

Yeah, i popped him. I just wish I had gotten there a little sooner.

Ended up in a turning fight, with him doing pretty much flat turns and with me doing fairly dramatic Yo-yos and trying to get the snap shot on him. Came close enough on the last pass that I went ahead and yanked a bit hard, past the buffet -- got the very nice leading snapshot, and plasterd him with 4x closely mounted Hispanos. He went straight to tower, which was a good thing....because he didnt get to see my flat spin into the dirt. Naturally, I stabilized just in time to see notihing but green 100m below my nose!

I bet that guy was ranting about the "BS!!" that let a "Mossy outturn a P51B with flaps out!!!!"
