Hey Dogs,

I know a few of you are quite techy.  Is there any way to unplug from the telephone from the hardline telephone pole wire system and have a cell phone connect to your inhouse extension phones so any extension could answer the cell call?

Probably just a wish...but one never knows...

Along the same lines.....internet phone systems, like Vonage, are they single phone systems or can you connect them to your in-house phone system and use the extension phones around the house?

Bet just another wish...

Thanks
Carb

I believe the answers would be

1. No

2. Vonage probablly comes with adapters simular to the way DSL does but not 100% sure on that.

I can tell you that a buddy of mine in Austin, Tx. went to the internet phone system and got the basic
package and now if he is on the phone talking to someone and checks his e-mail the phone cut's in and out  BangHead BangHead

I'm no guru tho..

yes,  there are cell phone base stations that allow you to dock your cellphone(s) and have the land lines ring.  It uses the cell technology to communicate, so you need to disconnect your in-house wiring from the telco's lines.  I don't have the name of it, but my co-worker has used this for about a year.  He and his wife dock theirs and have the old analog phones ring at night.  When I am back to the office I'll ask.

A vonage phone can work (I have one) but you need to disconnect from the pole....... In an emergency (power outage, ISP outage) you would have no phone..... My vonage has a one remote.... I think you can get more......

As far as the cell phone thing I don't know.........
