I thought about Total War. Maybe this one. I will have to view the links at work if they are not blocked.

I loved the first 2 titles, Shogun & MTW. I was not at all pleased with the way they changed the interface with MTW Rome.
While the eye candy was nice I disliked having to learn a whole new system for movement & giving orders. MTW Rome has sat on my shelf for the last year plus, while I still play MTW on ever higher skill levels, still learning fine details and tatics.
I'll keep an eye on this one but I'll look twice before I jump.

I can't get MTW to run in camaign mode. :/
I like the UI for M2TW, compared to the original. I think its easier to move and rearrange units.
In the original I keep wanting to shift click other units, and that just tells the one unit I have selected to move toward the 2nd unit. So all my units end up a jumbled mess.

WOW this game is pretty.
I just played the demo and watched the movie included with the demo.
Everyone should watch that movie.
Looks like a great game this time around. The detail is amazing.

Ok, grabbed the demo, loaded it, played it.
This one has potential, enough so that I might actually spend money for this one.

I bought it a few days ago. Being a long time Total War player (not particularly good at it) I was looking foward to this one.
So far, I love it!
I've only played multiplayer in this series a couple of times - I only know one other guy (that I trust and like) that has had it, but he doens't play this series often.
Any squad mates that would like to give multi a try in this new one, let me know - I trust and like all of you.
In Pursuit,

I'm having the time of my life playing this game lol, "Archers- Attack!" lol Just got it on monday, got into campaign mode yesterday, right now I'm france, built up a huge army, captured all the rebel territory, made an alliance with Milan and Venice, captured Caen from the English. I secured all my frontiers and now we march to take on the holy Roman empire lol The battles are brilliant, organized my army then send them into battle, great to be able to zoom right into the action and watch yer boys massacre the english !

Could anyone burn me the demo and shoot it my way? I can't get it at work. Most of the game sites are blocked. Except Aces High. I pulled some strings for that one.

Well I finished my first campaign.
Pro's, battles are very pretty, what with flaming arrows, catapults dropping flaming ammo into the walls etc. There are a lot more factions, and options than the old MTW. Siege equipment is cool, and I like having the option to build what I need, rams, towers, ladders etc. Those combined with ballista's and catapults can make attacking a bigger town or castle a real fun experience.
Cons Is there ANY way of turning off the animations in the campaign mode? Sorry but after watching a soldier turn & smack another soldier 15 times I really don't care. The animation slows things way down. Same for the Siege animation.
Also, if I have more than 1 army at say a siege, and attack, how do I select which troops/units I wish to start with? In the original MTW you could cycle through available units. Then call for reinforcements when & where you wanted them. In MTW2 it seems to just give you randomly whatever unit it feels like even if its on the other side of the battlefield.
This has cost my dearly in a few battles where a couple of units of spearmen or cavalry would have turned the tide, but I'm given archers or catapults clear across the battle from where I need help.
It took me 3 days to figure out where my assassins were. All the other agents are figures on the campaign map. Except assassins & other useful guys.
Daddog, I have a copy of the whole game here, did you need a Christmas present???

I think you can hit the spacebar to skip the animations. Dunno if theres a way to turn them off altogether.
