RO is a great game, my handle on the game is the same as in AH, I love  sneaking around the danzig map with a bayonet attached lol, I wait till an unsuspecting German walks by, pop out and stick him  so I stay quiet lol.
I prefer the Infanty roles as compared to the Tank roles, In the RO tanks you can get up to 3 guys in the one Tank, makes for great teamwork.

is this game like americas army where you have to go and look for a server to hook up to, or is it like WW2ol i like the massive online games. like ah and ww2ol, but i don tlike the 8 and 16 type servers and having to find a server to play on. timed games arent much better to me. the only game i like so far was the delta force gmes and swat 3 for the small server type games. and only for co op. i never did like death type matches. i liked the team aspect of games

it is why i dont try to many games we all try. and i am stuck with two ah and ww2, I do own swat 3, when i was working 3-11 i used to play withmy calf. friend every night after work, but going days i dont play it, but swat was fun and delta force 2 .or i could just look for game online and find this out fo rmy self...lol

Hey Sarge. Red Orchestra is like AA , you have to connect to a server and play.  Please don't compre the game to AA.

This game is what we all wished WW2OL would've looked and played like.

There are two really good server I play on.  One runs infantry maps and the other is a tanks/infantry combo server. Both are always full servers and mature team players. The game has built in voice coms like Aces High. All the serious players use it to cordinate attacks. Brings back good memories of Friday squad ops.

The maps are huge, it has the same feel as WW2OL. You have objectives you need to hold or take to win the map.

Each map battle is timed. Each side has a set amount of allotted troops to use. Games are won by taking the obejectives, or one side runs out of reinforcments and the team with more points(due to objectives) gets the win.

The maps are beautiful. I swear, you will be blown away over how awesome these maps look, even for an older game engine. The illusion of a war torn Eastern Front comes across better than any game I've ever played, and I've played a ton.

The game developers are true to the community. They release content updates every other month and constantly fix bugs. Also the community can make maps and there are some beauties out there. There is also a rule that all maps must be realistic and mapped after real battles or locations from the Eastern Front. Everything from Berlin to Stalingrad.

Here is a link to their latest teaser video for the current Fall Booster pack. Watch this and tell me you don't get excited to play this game... all scenes are ingame shots, it looks that good.

http://www.redorchestragame.com/index.php?categoryid=3&p13_sectionid=3&p13_fileid=39

Also to compare it WW2OL. They model all their vehilces and tanks to realistic specs. There are no hit points. They model armour ect.. The same as WW2OL in that respec. You can either drive a tank alone or sharing positions with another player like WW2Ol.

Watch that video and let me know what you think.

It would be awesome if more of you would give this game a try. Right now its just me and Makarov who I haven't seen online in days.

Here are some other videos showcasing the game.

Almost forgot, if any of you decide you want to play this game. They are releasing a "Red Orchestra: Collector's Edition" for Xmas. It's for anyone that doesn't already own the game. ( nothing new for us). And it comes with Dogtags you can wear while playing Sarge  police

" The new Collector’s Edition Includes:

• Two new maps from developer Tripwire Interactive
• Four new weapons
• Two new vehicles
• A bonus DVD featuring ten of the best maps designed by the * Red Orchestra community
• Sixteen Strategy Cards with information on Red Orchestra’s vehicles and maps
• An official metal Red Orchestra dog tag
• Trailers, art work, desktop wallpaper images, and more!

Using Navarre as its exclusive distribution partner to retail, Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 Collector’s Edition will be available through North American retailers such as Best-Buy, Target, Future Shop, and others soon, at a suggested price of $19.99. "

You can't beat that price for one of the most underated games on the net.

If any of you are interested. Load up  www.xfire.com  and make yourself a name. After you are online with xfire go ahead and ad me to your buddy list as "sunking1" .

With xfire you can see when your friends are online and you can actually see what games they are playing, what servers and msg them or join them in game.... a good tool.

/end fanboi mode.

will have to check it out. One of ww2ol post was about having ww2ol like RO in soime aspects of the game. i know unitty two is suppose to come out this year for thier newest engine. since most players want better and more realistic graphics. but most systems on it now will not be ale to play it , so i guess they need to meet with graphics and playabilty for majority of players. but thier looks are getting better not as many squarded off looking people.. it getting there. but i still like it. But how real do i want it to look like. dont know, i seen enough in real life. like to keep it a little gamey so i can sleep at nights without nightmares..lol

SunKing,

What type of system do you need to play this well?  It looked amazing, but I'm not sure if my system could handle it.  My BF2 play stutters a bit on my system and AA works with a FPS in the 30/40s.

RO uses a modified Unreal engine, same as AA currently.

Cool!

I don't think Speede is on our board much any more. You and hawco should look for each other in RO.

I "will" be in Sacramento on the 22nd, 23rd, and the 24th. I plan on calling you both so we can hook up for a cup of coffee somewhere. Smiley
