This is just a partial list.  We did well.

Of particular note:
1. My kill on ROX was the very first of the frame.
2. Dicho37's death was the very first for the Axis.
3. Closely followed by RenDog's death.  -- 1 & 2 in the frame  grin
4. TCE earned ACE status in less than 15 minutes.  icon_salut  thumbsup

What a blast -- short an sweet for me -- killed ROX's sbd and collided with his parts.  No damage, but forgot to look out for the p40 that came through.  He nailed me with a couple of shots -- one of which hit my pilot.  I immediately egressed towards home.  In the process I managed to kill one TBM that heavyH was wrangling with and then tracked a low bunch of TBMs all the way back to base.  Peppering one or two with my MGs.  When the calvary came over (the CAP of A9) they missed the low bunch and went for the medium alt bunch.  A couple of guys came down to dispatch the low TBMs.  As I was lining up for final, my pilot died.  I was with in 30 seconds of landing.  protest

From the looks of the partial logs, the Allied paid a price for their bombing, but A9 took a beating.

PS:  I won't post what we took off in as I think RenDog deserves a break from KP duty -- he needs to wash and wax my Yak  whip2

I knew I had two kills outright.  I scored several hits on an SBD at 0 distance and was surprised it didn't explode.  My second kill was the result of a good check 6 by a squadie, I pulled up and inverted and watched him fly below me in a straight line.  I rolled level, nosed down and nailed him.  Sorry if someone was lined up on him.

After the second kill, I had no cannon left and outlaw said to head back.  I turned to A9.  When I arrived there was a great low furball going on.  Too bad I had to use the spit balls.  I was peppering a TBM with BB's when I heard one good hit on my plane.  The canopy turned red briefly .. then into the tower.

A short frame, but one heck of a good one for me.

I went after a p40 that was pulling up in front of me, but got too close and he took off a wing. Sad

22:37:19 Skillfully ditched.

yea i was real skillful. went to 37 to refuel due to fuel leak in left wing and rearm. taxied all over that field and could not find refuel station. as i revved up engine to Head to what i thought was it, turned to hard to the left plane tipped over onto left wing which dipped nose into ground and bent prop. so if that was skill then i am a ace..lol

Had a good flight prior to that, the dumb butt refueling attempt was weird. i was all over that base before nose diving into dirt and could not find that pad. bad thing was i left recorder on to save that skillful ditch..lol

WOOHOOO!!!! I lived long enough to get killed this time... skills improving exponentially Cheesy

good times

going to spend the better part of my free time on the weekend working on adjusting trim and dialing my plane(s) in during ACM.  Reading the wingman tactics and I'm thinking I'll do a little practicing in C47s in case we ever need a taxi driver Smiley

Thanks again guys I'm having the time of my life Smiley

Great job everyone... even one kill in that piece of junk is a trophy.  And TCE, an F4-U?  That guy has to be saying "doh"!  You had to be down to bb's by then!  The furball at 9 was intense, although most of my time there was spent blacked out.  I don't know how I survived as long as I did.  Got some snap shots on passing planes but couldn't see much through the oil and blood on the windshield.  I was surprisingly able to ditch with one wing as I blacked out again.  I came to thinking I would be int he tower, but there I sat under the furball.

Does anyone else hate P-38's like I do?  If I see one, I will bypass a formation of enemy C-47's and go for it.  Spit 16's are a close second.

I ripped my wings off in a too-fast immelmann.  After 2 weeks of flying the A6M2, I think I'm qualified to say that it's a cruddy plane with very few advantages.  Even against the P-40B it's not great.  In order to have an advantage, you have to bait the enemy pilot into flying a certain way, and they don't often take the bait.

Dicho,

I'd use combat trim, especially with planes that don't have WEP (wep won't compensate for extra torque and your plane will constantly roll on WEP usually).

Also get that ACM Visual program that mididog offered, it's great for seeing ACMS.

Check out netaces.org and soda's AH Aircraft eval page, both highly useful: http://members.shaw.ca/soda_p/models.htm

Indeed Dogma... I've got about 50% of netaces printed and I read it in the morning when I'm um... in the study Smiley

Just got back from Sacramento.

Over all it went well from our squads perspective. Sure had more pilots then I thought we would. Had several old dogs show up we don’t see very often. Was good to see you guys. Smiley If I had not been busy with the Frame C.O. stuff I would have thought to have 2 or 3 of you hang back and fly with another squad. That is the best way to handle when we have too many pilots.

For those of you new to Squad Ops, squads have to commit to a number of pilots prior to each Squad Ops (3 weeks long). I put us down for 11-15 pilots. That gave us a max of 17 pilots we could have fly without penalty. Squads can go 2 under or 2 over their committed numbers. So we can go as low as 9 and as high as 17. What did we have? 19 pilots! LOL Oops!

Glad most of you had a good time. I was an observer with outlaw (who gets a credit for a lead) and watched him bag a couple. Smiley

WTG TCE!
Hang in there dogma.. your time will come. Smiley
Dicho.. well done. :)It just keeps getting better.
Simaril was a pleasure to have you flying with us. Hope to see you again!

Time for me to write up the Squad News.

Was a pretty good night, but I had no Idea I managed 5 kills. I knew the first TBM and the F4-U  icon_biggrin. The F4-U was chasing someone else and I guess I caught him  sleepy2. !!

Nice job guys that was one of the better showings for us as far as staying together through the mess.  icon_salut

If we're over again I volunteer to ride as an observer.  I've ridden with Sim a couple of times and it's really helping my learning curve Smiley

It's ALWAYS a good time as far as I'm concerned
