I have a question about stalls in Squad Ops. When I first started I remember How easy it was to stall... Even when BlueEagle came aboard he was saying the same thing... But it seems like something has change. The stall seems more like it was in the MA. I don't know if anyone else has had the same feeling, but it does seem easier. Maybe I'm just getting better... I don't know.

It’s you.  Wink

Over time you develop a lighter touch on the controls and almost instinctively keep the nose down (more airflow over the wings) during a critical phase of flight. It’s something that’s hard to teach… it just come with experience.  Smiley

As far as I know the only tools regarding CM's that are different from MA is that we can turn the stall horn off.  I am not a set-up guy but I remember reading that somewhere.

I too remember the good ol days of stalling, stalling and nothing but stalling.  Did you do any tweaking to your roll, pitch or yaw settings?  This too can make a big difference.

I think you are getting better, which will make a difference to be sure.  There are some significant differences in Squad Operations than just flying in the MA or CT.

1 - Pressure. It is a one life event and none of us want to leave their wingman alone.
2- When it comes to clearing a squadies 6 I think most of us feel more pressure in Squad Ops than in the MA or CT.
3 - Loadouts. In Squad Operations we are always 100% fuel and often carrying bombs or rockets. Certainly those will affect our stall characteristics.

How many of you remember the first 3 or 4 Squad Operations I ran? Remember when it “REALLY” was a one life event. If you screwed up on take off you were done! I still remember when 2/3 of us hit the conning tower on the CV because of a strong crosswind. Most of us were done before we were off the deck. Now at least there is grace for the first few minutes incase of a poor take off. Smiley
