OK to all you good pirates. (And if your reading this you BETTER be a pirate!)
Recently I got lucky, after 3 months of running Win XP I was looking for a better version.
One that did NOT require activation or calling home to uncle bill. One that didn't make me call MS
for a new licence if I change some hardware. Well to make a long story shorter,l  I found it.

Win XP Pro SP2 corporate  (Yes Corporate)
No activation at ALL! Just put in the CD key during install and your DONE. Big Bills gift to the big corporations.
Buy a licence for a couple thousand computers and he doesn't care if you install it on a few dozen more.

If you do torrents you can download it here
http://torrentspy.com/torrent/780669/XP_SP2_Pro_Corporate_inclKeygen_BC
Took me less than 3 days to download it.

If you want me to burn you a clean copy, just shoot an email to
ghosth@mcleodusa.net

BTW this comes with a full page of xp cd keys, as well as a keygen for making new ones.
I'm on my 2nd week on this install, everything is  solid, clean and looking good.

So if you need a low cost copy of XP, a backup just in case.
Or a version that doesn't call home to uncle bill just because you changed
some hardware here is the answer.

Pirates ONLY need apply.

Mind you I'm not advocating that everyone go steal bill gates blind. All you guys with actual money should by all means go spend it.  But if you can't afford the cost, or the hassle, there is another way. ARgggggggg matey!

(Secret handshake) Watch your 6 mates!

When you apply patches to that version, you may not want to install the patch named "Windows Genuine Advantage" as it will nag you worse that an ex-wife.  It's relatively simple now, but they are making it more intrusive by the month.  My legal copy of XP (purchased on the internet as an OEM version) is complaining about being pirated.  So I don't install that little "patch" anymore on any of my systems.  It first came out about 2 months ago as a patch.  Before that it was an optional product you could install when you visited microsoft's update site.  Now you have to have it in order to do MS Office updates.

A while back I was shopping for XP and was not happy with the cost involved. Finally found some that were pretty inexpensive. When I read up the details on them I found out they were a sort of one time use copy. If you upgraded or changed systems they would not register again. I did not buy them.

Nasty You !!

Well, I also have a genuine copy of XP, but I don't use it just because of the pain with activating .
The following javascript has worked well  for me, at least when downloading Windows patches and updates. It doesn't let you download anything from MS download center though.

Copypaste from the last year:

"This week, Microsoft started requiring users to verifiy their serial number
before using Windows Update. This effort to force users to either buy XP or tell
them where you got the illegal copy is called 'Genuine Advantage.' It was cracked
within 24 hours."

Before pressing 'Custom' or 'Express' buttons paste this text to the address bar and
press enter:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx YeahYeah, i just noticed this is an open forum...

It turns off the trigger for the key check.
