Well this one was a nail biter. Of the several duels I have had in the past couple months I have yet to lose one. This has been a surprise to me and I have not been (or trying not to) let it go to my head.
When I dueled TCE a week or so ago I lost my first round. Up to then I had won every round in ever duel. I have had little flight time in the past couple of weeks and when outlaw and I hooked up today I was feeling anything but ready.
Round 1 – I picked the P-40B and felt pretty confidant about it. Outlaw got in a couple shots as I did on him, but I stalled out and that allowed him to get on my six. I could not shake him. I finally hit the ground and slid to a stop. I told him afterwards I should have jumped out with my .45 in hand and started shooting at him.
Round 2 – Outlaw chose the Ki-61. I don’t fly it often and I don’t think he does either. After the initial merge he shot me up with a good burst and it was over.
Round 3 – Now I am thinking it is over. I am about to lose my first duel and at this point I was thinking it would be nice to win at least one. I choose the Hurr I and it was a good match. After several yo-yo’s and other moves we were on the deck. Outlaw finally crashed and I one my first round.
Round 4 – Outlaw picked the 109E. I do well in the 109’s in the Allied vs Axis arena when I fly them so I was good with that. This round was not as short as round 2 but not much longer. After some merges I managed to take off his tail.
Round 5 – Ok now it is 2 to 2 and this will decide it. I get to pick the AC and with sondog looking on he was begging me to take the P-38 or something else I do well in. LOL He did not want his papa to lose.

I picked the 109F. Again some good moves, but after a bit I was on his six more than he was on mine. We ended up on the deck and outlaw hit the ground.
Amazed I won. Outlaw I really enjoy the duels, win or lose.
