AAR - skernsk

Climb out and formation went well.

I was able to stay with forHIM until we dropped.  I was about 1K back on the bomb run in the event that he took out the dar.  His drop was bang on and I switch targets and dropped on the FH's.  No idea if I hit or did any damage.  Upon pullout I blacked out and lost forHIM.

Luckily, a good lead that forHIM is, he found me.  We went into the furball and I was covering him.  He missed his pass and called me in.  I blammed a 109.  Then all hell REALLY broke loose and I had to break.  Once agian being separated from my wingman.  forHIM had been helping daddog and downed a 109, but I was too far away to be effective in helping him.

forHIM was shot down over Germany.

Running like a scared gurl, I had several on me.  I went into the weeds hoping to clear them off by making them auger.  One enemy plane did just that.  Shortly after that low, slow and out of options, some Luftweenie shot my butt off.

We were effective in taking the CAP down and allowed the Tempests into target.  maddog entertained the rest of us for the next 20 mins or so by coming back witih more eggs.

I am confused as to why we only took 500lb bombs when we were tasked to take hangars.  That would have made a big difference in our damage to the field.  But it was fun regardless.

I really enjoyed this FSO.  As far as personal goals went, I managed to bring back a wingman in 2 of 3 frames and got 5 kills for this FSO.  Frame 2 was a night that only happens once in 10 frames.  We kicked some German a$$!

332nd Flying Mongrels stats:
Pilots: 15    Kills: 6    Assists: 2
Obj Destroyed: 2    Deaths: 10    Landed: 2
Bailed: 0    Captured: 1    Crashed: 3
Ditched: 0    Disco'd: 0

We didn't do to bad.  I made a very concerted  effort tonight to stay near my wingman.  Unfortunately I couldn't hit diddly.  I originally called one / claimed one, and my film makes it appear that I got him, but the logs say differently.  I had a couple of opportunities, but was to fast or had to avoid a collision.  Skernsk, thanks for the great job winging.

DD: on my film, the CM eye stuff shows.  So I was able to watch the Dammed come in and drop, etc. on film.

Also, we were unfortunate to run into the AKs in their 190s.  Seems that the AKs know how to shoot.

edit:  I uploaded my last 3 squad ops films to www.332nd.org/dogs/forHIM/ for anybody to watch/use.  Tonights film gets interesting (plane action) around the 18:45 mark.

twas one of those night i guess for me.. glad we got in and was able to drop even if we didn't do much but bring the cap down..yeah the AK's are good pilots i seem to enjoy the encounter with them and have learned allot flying against them when ever i do..i do not know what i hit to crash i was chasing a bandit on sours six cleared a groove of trees then boom i get the you have crashed message.. at first i thought maybe i had target fixated and that one of them had landed a good shot that i hadn't heard being so lo to the ground i might have messed the shot from them and crashed before i could have noticed but the logs gives no one credit for my crash and my film shows me clear of any obstacle when it happens and still 100+ft from the ground so it must have been some net thing between myself and the server is all i can figure..

WTG maddog on a fun flight and surviving

I wish I had taken the time to coordinate with the other squad on our strike, but we had company this week (they are leaving this AM) and I have been watching the kids a lot. Consequently I did not contact the other squad for us to hit the target at the same time. Had we done so it might have turned out quite different. I made a good drop on the large pad on a FH and then engaged. I noticed my .50’s did not seem to have the power they usually do. I think it has something to do with the lack of bandwidth when sondog is on flying. I lit up two 190’s and a 109. Amazed that they would not go down. I have heard others complain about rubber bullets before. Also I have been working with the 109k lately and been getting some good hits with that 30mm. Outlaw warned me I will not be able to hit with the .50’s after that. LOL he was right. Anyway I ended up on a 190 and we must have made 3 or 4 360’s before he broke off of Sarge. I had a couple other good bursts on some aircraft with only some smoke coming out of one. Then I ran. I made it quite a ways from base and had to engage the 4 that were chasing me. I lost. LOL

dd, after the 109's broke off me on those 4 360's i straightend out to be ho"d by a 190. i found MD again and started to shoot at the 190's behind maddog. i let them see tracers so they would get of md's 6. then i ended up with three behind me, guess that is where you came in with the ones after me. but the HO took my wing off and i hit bail out real fast , but was to low for chute to open so i died on impact.. But i guess it worked out for maddog he was the last one up and two hits on target.  Before i broke off maddogs 6 i had to much speed . so i ended up going thru maddogs bullets and the plane he was shooting at.. i swore he would of had an a assist on me. don't know how he missed me . and that time maddog i wasn't going for your kill. i was just shooting at target to get him  t steer the other way. thats when i flew in between you and your target you shot down..

Had a heck of a time hitting anything. I was on the Dora that was on Ghost and fired a bunch at him.
Finally got him right after Ghost was done - bit late. I think that my issue was I was flying without tracers -
of course, MD will tell you that it doesn't matter Cheesy

I think I would up a total of 9 kills for these 3 frames, unfortunately I failed to land once  undecided
