Attn all P38 drivers

Took a test ride with an aspiring p38 driver in the TA yesterday.

While he does not have a dual throttle he has been playing with cutting rpm's on one side just prior to doing a turn.

He did the nicest unholy flipturn over his left wingtip I've ever seen.
Very very smooth, no loss of control, hit wep for instant recovery.

Just thought you may be interested.

Sunking got a ch setup that lets you use the little mini stick on the throttle as an engine break. I havn't had a chance to look at it and figure out the syntax for scripting ch sticks yet.

I hope to use it for ah and flight sim.

It's jacked up. One engine is full thottle the other isnt when you move throttle axis z all the way forward.. then when you move the stick one engine can be cut out to 0% and the other only cuts out 50%.. Need Starbird to work his magic and fix it.

I got it working with my aces map. Works really well in a 38. Not sure how much it helps turning, havn't flown against anyone else yet. Cutting the inboard engine in a turn seems to reduce the turn radius quite a bit, but you have to watch you dont go into a spin. Its quite effective at around 120-150mph with some flaps out.

hammerheads look really impressive. if you wait for the speed to drop below 100 and blip one of the engines and full rudder, it'll come around in no time. the hard part is stopping it, you need to use opposite engine to stop the rotation or you go into an inverted flat spin. Altho that is easy to get out of with differental throttle also, you'll ruin any suprise you just had doing the manuver.

If anyone wants to get it set up, let me know I can send you my map files. It's fairly easy to get setup, but I can go over it in ah if anyone needs to.

Never played with my engines that way. Mainly because until a few months ago I only had a stick.

Starbird I would like to see how to do that.  I will have to watch for you online.
