Picked up Battlefield 2

was able to log into the server, but since no one was on, I couldn't play

Instead got my behind handed to me -- online much different then the single player mode.   :unsure:


So how do you unlock the more powerful weapons and get ranking?  The beginners tank killer is pathetic and I picked up someone else' spec op weapon and it was sweet (killed first shot versus newbies 3-5 shots for a kill).  Must have been the AP bullets he had loaded.  :blink:

The best way to unlock weapons is to play in ranked server's for a while and build
up your player rank, I normally play in the "Dog Soldiers" ranked or one
of the "Comcast" ranked servers and stick to one player type, personally
I like the "Assualt" but some times will do "Sniper".

And thanks for checking it out for me ForHim, now just need to make sure DD and SD
can get in....

I've been looking for a good timewaster.  Is this game 'just' online or does it have a decent scripted game?

I did not care for BF1942 so I don't want to get it until I know more.

Thanks Midi for the info.  I played last night on 1stcav's server (forget the name) it was a ranked server.  Unfortunately I kept jumping rolls -- the wake2007 map is just like I remember the bf42 one -- non-stop action.  I preferred the city fights as I could at least live a little longer by keeping my head down.  

Is there  a status or progress screen that indicates how close you are to unlocking certain weapons?

Oh Daddog don't know if you know this or not but
if you have a usb joy stick you can use it to fly the jets
and helo's. thinking of hooking up my ch flight yoke
to use as a stering wheel for the dune buggies.

If any of you guy's are into the mods for BF2 I suggest checking
out the Sureal mod, it  here's a few screen shots.

Have little time this week, but Saturday sometime Jed and I can play. Can we all play against the
AI?

As far as the joy stick go to options, click on controls,
then change to aircraft, use you mouse and click on which ever
one like Throttle up, turn right and stuf and
as you click on each one once then move the button or slider or
what ever on your joystick to set it as the primary, like fire button 1
is trigger on joy stick.

I'm still haveing to tweek mine so you'll have to tweek it as you go,
trying to figure out how to revirce my throttle right now it's backwards :wacko:

And saturday would be great if you can get a chance between now and then
make sure you can connect to the ip info I posted above,
and no we can't play against the AI yet but if we try to come up with a time frame Forhim
and maybe some one else could get on, but it will be fun either way, I'll keep
searching for a AI mod tho for multi-player...
