How do tell your system "not" to load some programs that appear in the task bar?  I turn most of them off after it finishes booting up, but would rather not have some load at all.

Also SunKing once explained how to turn off the windows msg that always loads. There was a string I had to add some where to something.  I will see if I can dig that up.

Start, run, msconfig

go to the start up tab.

Be careful in XP, 98SE is pretty straight forward what you can shut off.
As long as you leave taskmanager alone.

XP is a bit more complicated, but still works the same.
It also has another tab for processes. Here you can really make some big changes, but the possibilty for disaster lurks. So CAREFULLY!
