I hate Saitek .. or maybe it's just that I'm a dumb canuck.  They make installing and programming a joystick more involved than sending a man to the moon.

I managed to get everything programmed except I still have one small problem.  When I throttle up it's as if I have two throttles .. one cancelling the other out.  When flying a multi-engine plane I basically just do circles on the field.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

The second issue is a little worse.  I played AH just fine before I reformatted - but now it stutters something fierce.  I am getting slightly less frames per second than before.

I have an ATI Radeon 8500 and I "think" I am using the same driver as before.  I went to the website and installed the Catalyst driver.  I can't play it as is ... logged in for about 30 seconds tonight for squad night and spent the last 90 mins pulling my hair out.

Thoughts/ideas?

Win 98 or XP?

Are they all listed in the "control panel" "game controlers"? Does it list two throttles? USB right?

As for the vid card, I have the Radion 8500LE and use...
Driver - ATI Technologies Inc.
Date - 2/28/03
Version - 6.14.1.6307

My frame rates are 30 to 50 in AH.

I'm running windows 98 and downloaded the Catalyst 3.5 driver......I'm not sure if it helped or not .... I HATE drivers!!

I am having some serious "Gremlins" since the reformat.  First the hard drive wouldn't work so I unpluged it and found another plug hanging off the power supply.  That fixed it.

Next, windows starts up and goes through it's booting process.  The Windows 98 screen appears and when it goes blank a second before the wallpaper and icons are supposed to show up the monitor goes into sleep mode.  It's incredibly frustrating.  I booted in safe mode but had no idea what to do next.  I killed the monitor from device manager and restarted.  Same problem...when I went to safe mode the thing windows started up normally.  Now I'm afraid to shut it off.

Is it possible that that power supply is goiong and that if I replace it the monitor will be fine?  Any other ideas would be appreciated.

What is an IRQ? And how do I look to see if there is a conflict?  Skuzzy also asked about INF files for the motherboard.  I have no idea what they are or if they are there.  Isn't windows supposed to find that and do it's magic?  I have a disk that came with the MB .. I guess I could plug that in and see what damage I can do.

Need some help here,

The X45 stick is selected and works fine now for flight.  I installed Eaglers AH profile and under the stick mapping window you can see that the buttons are mapped.  However not one button works.

What did I forget?
