Broke my CD ROM

Left the tray out and when I turned to get out of my chair my leg caught it.  It is now about 20 degrees off what it should be.    No go on fixing it, though it seems to function fine the tray just pops in and out after I took it apart and hooked it back up.

Then put in an old BCD 24X, which works fine except it does not read any CD's. Just says please insert a CD.   <_<

Sooooo what is a good brand CD ROM? I don't have a burner. Should I spend a bit extra and get a burner that will do both? Suggestions welcome.

After I get my new CD ROM I am going to get http://www.alcohol-soft.com/ so I don't have to keep putting CD's in and out of my system.  Tried the trial version and worked great.

I did this to one of my test systems at work about two months ago. I spent about an hour trying to get the tray to work properly, but I was never able to.

Yes, I played with it more Sunday night. It is toast.

I expect the new one by Thursday or Friday.
