Pilots of the 332nd may recommend pilots, (other than themselves) for recognition by submitting a request for an award. Below awards are listed with a brief description of each. Not all awards are available for submission because some are given out only once a year at the end of the year. Others can only be earned during a squad training night while being observed by others to show competence in a particular skill and finally some awards can only be earned by participating in certain special events.
Readiness Dog Fight Award
For any Mongrel, new and old who has demonstrated to the squadron they are willing to and able to; fly in formation, shoot down enemy aircraft, give 6 calls, and come to the rescue of any Mongrel in need.

Wagging Tail Award
For continual exceptional meritorious conduct and superior service in non combat rolls.

Most Teeth Award
For any member who during a Squad Operations event, or an organized scenario becomes an ace with a streak of 5 or more kills.

Pure Breed Leadership Award
For continual outstanding service to the squadron in a leadership roll during an organized scenario, co-op missions, or weekly squad flights.

Return of Rin Tin Tin
For being the sole survivor of a mission and returning to base to land. All other squad members were killed or bailed.

Ultimate Dog Fight Award
For any wingmen who in one sortie downs three or more enemy aircraft and does not lose their wingman during a weekly squad mission.

Give a Dog a Bone Ribbon
Awarded to any squad member who has flown in at least 50 squad missions.
  
One Hundred Bones Ribbon
Awarded to any squad member who has flown in at least 100, 200 or 300 squad missions.
 
 
Citation Ribbons
Awarded to any squad member who has shown skill, bravery, or personal sacrifice in the Main Arena or Special Events. Each dog head represents a single citation.

C.V. Award
For successfully sinking an enemy C.V. or Cruiser during a squad mission, or organized scenario.

Keeping with the Pack
For any member who is able to consistently demonstrates the ability to fly in formation during buff missions.

Purple Dogtag Award
For successfully landing or ditching a severely damaged aircraft or with a pilot wound during an organized event.

Jassbo Bombing Award
Awarded to any squad member who is the top scorer for a Snapshot mission during a bomber mission. This is named in honor of Jason "jassbo" Soares, son to Gary "vaderr" Soares. Jason was the first Mongrel to be the top bombing pilot for a Scenario Lite or Snapshot.

Guard Dog Ribbon
For leading an escort group or flight and not losing a single buff flight throughout the squad mission, organized scenario or co-op mission.

Mentor Badge
For member with the rank of 1st Lieutenant and above who has been a mentor for a new pilot in our squadron.

Lassie Come Home award
Awarded for any flight operations leader who brings home every member of their squadron during a squad or co-op mission.

Run with the Pack Award
For any member who recruit's a new member for the Flying Mongrels.

Nipping Nifty Award
This is awarded to any squad member who by accident shoots down a fellow squad member during a squad event.

Wrong Aircraft Award
In honor of rendog and blutik who managed to take off in an aircraft that was not assigned to our squad.

Bulldog Award
For sinking your teeth into the enemy and holding on against overwhelming odds. For standing fast, not running away, even if it means going down with the ship.
For being the last dog standing at the entrance to the kennel barking defiance to the enemy.
Speedy Ribbon
This is awarded to any squad member who is the first to die in any Friday night Squad Operations. Not just the first to die in our squad, but the first to die out of the 400 plus players. Named of course after our own Speede. ;)Â



Wet Dog Award
The top ribbon is for squad members who have sunk a total of 1 to 4 ships, (torpedoes only) during our squad nights. The second is for those who have sunk 5 to 9 ships and the last is for 10 or more ships sunk by using torpedoes.

Ack Attack Award
For successfully destroying 4 enemy acks in one sortie during a weekly mission, co-op or organized scenario.

Hunter Wolf Badge
Awarded to any squad member who destroys two buffs during a weekly squad mission, co-op or organized scenario in one sortie and is able to land the kills.Â

Good Doggie Award
Awarded to any squad member who shows a willingness to help others and consistent good attitudes toward all other pilots.

Snapshot Top Fighting Dog
Awarded to any squad member who is the top scorer for a Snapshot, Squad Operations any special event during a fighter or escort mission.

Dog Kennel P.O.W. Award
For a successful bail directly over an enemy field which we just attacked.

Obedience School Award
Awarded to any Squad member who goes 10 weeks with out missing any squad flights.

Superior Dog Fight Award
For any Flight Leader who has demonstrated to the squadron they can lead a flight, and engage the enemy with success.

Vulching Award
This is a Main Arena award for any Mongrel who is able to vulch 10 or more kills and land them.

Crash on Take Off Award
Awarded to any Mongrel who on a squad night engages the enemy successfully and then lands a perfectly good aircraft only to crash after a re-arm or take off due to pilot error. 

Gunners Award
Awarded to any squad member who shoots down 5 or more enemy aircraft from a gunners position.
Stealing Kills
This award is given to any squad member who consistently steals kills from another squad member in the Main Arena. A careful eye must be kept on those who have this award, they are obviously dogs who would steal the bone of another dog.

Twin Engine Ace
Awarded to anyone who can land 10 or more kills in any twin engine aircraft.

Me-262 Kill
This is awarded to any squad member who shoots down an Me-262 in the Friday night Squad Operations.Â

Base Capture Ribbon
Base capture ribbon for anyone who is able to capture a base on a squad night.
The following awards can be earned during squad training sessions or other special timesÂ

Ships Gunner
Awarded to any squad member who is able to demonstrate competency in using the large fleet shelling weapons system.

Big Fat Dog
Awarded to any member who can take off and land three times in a row, (without splashing) from a CV in a F4U-D with 100% fuel, rockets, and 2-1000lb bombs. No easy task! Takes lots of practice.

Level Bombing Award
Awarded to any squad member who proves they can level bomb accurately two times in a row on any given target.

Dive Bomb Award
This is given to any squad member who is able to destroy an M16 three times in a row with a single 500lb bomb. Pilots may fly any aircraft they choose.

Torpedo Ribbon
This is given to any squad member who is able to put 3 out of 4 torpedoes into the CV of a task group. This only counts using the TBM or Kate. Members may not use the formations of larger bombers that carry torpedoes.

Rocket Award
This award is given to any squad member who is able to take out an M16 vehicle three times in a row using only 2 rockets or less each time.

Wingman Award
This award is earned by landing the most victories with a wingman during a month time period or a single squad night for that occasion.

3rd Place Ribbon
Our squad has a race once a year. Our first year was 1998 from London to Paris and back in P-51D's. We had our second squad race in 2002 along the Rhine River, again in P-51D's. Those who came in first, second, and third place were award each ribbon respectively. These can also be used for any other race we might have.

Dog Eat Dog Shootout Ribbon
The above propeller cross goes to the winner of our Dog Eat Dog Shoot out.

A special ribbon for the veterans in our squad
Awarded only to those who have served in the military.
The awards below are given out once a year and voted on by all members of the 332nd Flying Mongrels.
Outstanding Dog of the Year Award
Awarded for loyalty, sharp teeth, service to the squadron in combat and non combat rolls over an extended period of time. Someone who always has an excellent attitude, who is always helpful, quick to volunteer, do the dirty work, encouraging, teaching, and can clear your six at any given time. This is without a doubt our highest and most prestigious award!

Outstanding Wingdog of the Year award
Awarded by members at the end of each year to those that returned for their wingman, time after time regardless of damage, ammo, and situation. In other words who would you want as your wingman time after time in any given squad night?

Pup of the Year Award
POTY award can only be earned by those who have been in the squadron one year or less. Similar to the ODY but only for rookies. Think of the new pilots and who stands out in being loyal, helpful, willing to do the dirty work of washing our planes and driving the C-47's, getting along with everyone, bending over backwards to be a help to the squad and has learned a lot in their short time of service.

Distinguished Dog Service Medal
This is given to squad members who come to the air of other squad members in areas unrelated to combat. This award maybe given to members at times other than the end of the year.
